Stockholm & Intro
Welcome to another trip report! After spending several weeks exploring around other beautiful European cities and countries, we decided to end the trip exploring Stockholm, Sweden before returning back to the US.

Stockholm has a long and interesting history, magnificent architecture, friendly people, and stunning architecture all around.

The city is also very walkable with many charming small streets and alleyways.

Fun fact! Did you know that some of the greatest pop bands and singers such as Abba, The Cardigans and Roxette are from Sweden?

This is Stortorget, the main square in Stockholm's charming old town (Gamla Stan).

It's the end of April here but the weather was quite cold during our stay here with the temperature hovering at the low 30° F/-2°C

Aside from the cold weather Stockholm is still a very beautiful City and I can imagine it's even better to enjoy during the summer months. I hope to visit again soon and also explore other parts of this amazing country.

Transport to airport
It is now day of departure where I'll be heading home to the US 🥲. Today I'll be flying back home to Salt Lake City via JFK & Detroit.

To get to Arlanda airport, we'll be taking public transport starting off here at Skanstull station.

By taking the metro using the SL app, the journey would cost 42 SEK or 3.81 USD one way at the time of this trip.

The trip would consist of taking two trains and one bus before reaching Arlanda airport. It's a long journey but if your a frugal traveler like I am and don't mind the extra time then this is a good option 😉.

The total journey time from where we began in Skanstull to the airport would be an hour and twenty minutes. The SL app has a timer once your validate your ticket on the app and the timer times up at the 75 minute mark. So just enough time to use it to get to the airport.

Now currently at Märsta station where we have to exit the station and walk a short distance to catch the bus to the airport.

After re-scanning the barcode from the app I finally made it onboard the bus in the last leg of the journey.

I quickly got a glimpse of the famous Jumbo Stay, a Boeing 747 converted into a hotel.

One day hopefully I'll get the chance to stay here and experience this authentic experience.

And after a fairly long commute we finally arrived into Stockholm's Arlanda airport.

From here we just follow the signs to 'Terminal 5' where Delta operates out of.

Check-in
At the of this flight, the Delta check-in desks are located at the far end of zone 7.

Thanks to my status, me and my travel companion had received a complementary upgrade a few days before departure on this flight from main cabin to comfort+ which was a delightful surprise. This would make for a slightly more enjoyable experience across the pond. Another benefit of my gold medallion status was the ability to use the Sky Priority lane for check-in.

Check-in and baggage drop off is complete and now I can proceed to security control.

I was able to use the priority security lane and all in all I was airside in just 10 minutes.

Before proceeding to the gate area, we have to traverse through a duty free area which is normal in Europe.

My flight is DL 205 with a scheduled departure time of 10:20a.

I could already start to see the tail of my aircraft in the distance.

My aircraft
Here's my Boeing 767-300(ER) that will be taking me across the Atlantic to New York today.

N1605 was delivered new from Boeing to Delta on May 27, 1999.

Making her about 25 years old at the time of this flight.

This aircraft is configured in a premium heavy four class configuration that consists of 26 Delta One, 18 Premium Select, 21 Comfort+ and lastly 151 Main Cabin seats. For a total capacity of 216 seats. For this flight I'll be sitting in seats 32A,B located in the tiny three row comfort+ section.

I always get excited whenever I have the opportunity to fly on a 767 as more and more airlines opt for smaller and less comfortable aircrafts. Delta serves Stockholm from JFK seasonally from mid April to mid October with three flights per week during the spring and fall and daily service during summer months.

After clearing immigration, we had to head up stairs where our boarding gate will be located.

This will be our departure gate this morning.

About an hour before boarding starts they allow us to enter the actual boarding area where there are seats.

Boarding

Boarding began on time and I boarded with Comfort+ group.

Walking pass the Premium Select cabin which is configured in a 2-2-2 abreast layout.

And the Comfort+/Main cabin which is configured in a spacious 2-3-2 abreast layout.

My seat
Here's my seat for the next 8.5 hours, 32A (Comfort+).

Placed at each seat was a small amenity kit, a plush pillow and a sealed blanket.

Each seat comes with a nice sized PTV.

These seats offer a spacious 34" of pitch and 7" of recline.

This 767 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4060 engines that can produce uo to 62,000lbs of thrust each.

There's a nice convenient pouch provided to store passports and other important things.

There are universal power outlets available underneath the seat (one for every two seats).

In addition there's a USB port and a headphone jack right below the PTV.

The overhead panel consists of a pair of individual air vents and reading lights.

The flight attendants passed through the cabin offering complimentary headphones.

Pushback
We pushed back from the gate right on schedule.

The safety video began to play shortly after.

Until next time 🇸🇪!

The winglet on the 767 is 11ft tall but looks quite small from out the window.
And did you know that these winglets improve fuel efficiency on the 767 by 6%.

We eventually made it to cruising altitude at 34,000ft.

Inflight lunch service
About 35 minutes into flight the first service began with a choice of drink. On international flights with Delta, alcoholic beverages are complimentary in economy class.

The meals were handed out 50 minutes into flight with a choice of basil chicken or cheese tortellini.

Options for lunch were cheese tortellini or chicken basil.

The meal tray came with the main entree, couscous salad, cheese wedge, crackers, and tiramisu for dessert. The entree itself came with chopped chicken breast, gnocchi and steamed spinach in creamy basil sauce. This is almost if not identical to the meal I had from ATH to JFK just the year prior.

Additional drinks were offered shortly after the meal trays were handed out. The crew on this flight definitely didn't skimp on the drinks on this flight which was great 😅.

Bamboo cutlery are provided to economy class.

The best part of the meal has to be the Tiramisu which was very delicious!

Overall the meal was great!

After the meal trays were collected, the flight attendants came by through the cabin once again offering drinks. I went for a bourbon cream and coffee.

Flying somewhere over the north Atlantic near Greenland.

The loo
Took the opportunity to paid the loo a visit.

Light snacks are available in the galley. Which mainly consisted of crackers, cheese wedges, muffins and granola bars.

Mid-flight snack
On this flight there wouldn't be a mid-flight service conducted by the flight attendants due to the relatively short duration of this flight. Nonetheless I went to the back and helped myself to some snacks and asked a flight attendant for a drink.

The cabin lights were eventually turned off and remained like that for most of the flight.

Inflight entertainment
Delta's IFE system, also called Delta Studio, has a good selection of movies, TV shows and music to choose from.

Plenty of content to keep one entertained especially on a flight of this length. In addition, there are a few games if nothing else entertains you 😉.

My absolute favorite part of any IFE is the interactive map which I had fun playing around with 😅.

The flight attendants were very proactive handing out water throughout the flight.

Tray table & seat back contents
Here's a look at the tray table which was of decent size and extendable.

The seat back consisted of a safety information card and an air sickness bag.

Amenity kit
Let's examine the contents of the Comfort+ amenity kit.

The contents include a pair of earplugs, toothbrush, toothpaste and an eye mask. Overall the contents were nice and came to great use during the flight.

Shortly after, the cabin lights were turned on once again for the start of the pre-arrival service.

Pre-arrival service

About an hour before arrival a light meal was served. The tray just consisted of a calzone (beef or vegetarian) and a sleeve of cookies for dessert.

And shortly after drinks were offered.

The calzone wasn't the best but at least it was filling.

Initial descent
Shortly after we began our initial descent into JFK.

First views of Long Island below.

Landing on runway 22L

A very smooth landing, welcome to New York's JFK airport! 🇺🇸

We arrived at the gate 40 minutes ahead of schedule, well done Delta.

Deplaning
One last look at my seat, it was a very comfortable journey across the Atlantic.

Deplaning and passing through the premium select section and Delta one cabins.

From here we have to go through border control and re-clear security for our onward flight to Detroit in a few hours.

This concludes the trip report, thanks for reading!
Nice report as always! You can't go wrong with that 2-3-2 configuration on 767s and Delta have managed to keep the cabins looking new and fresh on these old birds. The Premium Economy cabin looks wonderful in 2-2-2 configuration!
First meal looks good, the second meal kind of meh, but very typical of TATL Y service. It's nice to see DL doing a mid-flight snack and full drink service, which is pretty rare on TATL in Y.
Thanks for sharing!
