After roaming on FlightReport for years, I decided to take the first step to write my own flight report. Do comment on what can be improved if any.
My route for the grand holiday this year was planned this way because this was a miles redemption trip on Singapore Airlines. I'm glad to have fulfilled one of my dreams this trip.
Flight routing
- 1SIN-CGK Garuda Indonesia Economy A330-900neo
- 2CGK-SIN Singapore Airlines First B777-300ER
- 3SIN-LHR Singapore Airlines First B777-300ER
- 4LHR-EDI British Airways Economy A320
- 5GLA-FRA Lufthansa Economy A320
- 6FRA-SIN Lufthansa Economy B747-8I
This first leg is a repositioning flight to Jakarta, as redeeming Singapore Airlines from SIN-LHR costs the same number of miles as CGK-SIN-LHR. As somebody who loves flying, just like many of us on this site, I decided to maximise the flight duration from the redemption.
Before flight: Changi Airport
Changi Airport is my home airport and it is definitely one of the world's best. There is always something in the works when I go there.

My wife and I went to the butterfly garden to see some butterflies. Wandering around Changi Airport is a good way to pass the time.
We then went to our gate area to catch a glimpse of the A330-900neo that would be flying us to CGK. This is PK-GHG, an adorable livery brought about by the pandemic. It was amusing to see the 'mask' on the A330-900neo's signature 'sunglasses'.

Inflight experience
Boarding commenced and we went onboard, taking our seats. I am 1.77m tall and the seat pitch is ok for me.
Each seat has a responsive IFE, and headphones came provided in the seat pocket when we boarded.
The seat pocket contained the usual stuff.

Boarding was complete after a short while. The mood lighting is nice to see.
I looked around and estimated the flight to be 95% full.

As this is a short flight of only 1h 15 mins, the cabin crew sprung into action once the seatbelt signs were turned off. They pushed the meal carts out and started serving meals.
My wife preordered the seafood meal.
The starter was some pumpkin salad, main course was fish in tomato sauce with potatoes and vegetables. Dessert was cheap fresh fruit.

I ordered from the onboard default menu. I picked the chicken in kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) with vegetables.
The starter was a carrot salad and the dessert was a red velvet cake.
The other choice of main course was stir-fried flat noodles with beef.
I had beer with my meal.
There were both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks with the meal. There was even milk!

The food is delicious. It seems like Asian airlines serve better food in all my travels.
We landed in CGK uneventfully. Thankfully CGK was not crowded at the time we landed.
We then booked a Gojek to take us to our hotel.
hi and welcome to flight-report! great first time review, first viewer and enjoyed it. keep it up! 😀
Welcome to Flight-Report! We're glad to have you here! Good report!
A wonderful first report! Very cool to see a review on the Garuda A330neo. The cabin looks very nice and comfortable--I much prefer the 2-4-2 configuration of A330s to the 3-3-3 of A350s, and either of these are preferable to the tight 3-3-3 of 787s.
The meal looks fantastic for a 2-hour flight! Better than Business class meals on a flight of similar duration in Europe or North America haha.
Thanks for sharing and welcome!
