Hey folks! Heading back to Germany on a familiar route, ATL-MUC. My inbound flight from PHX had a rather eventful push back with a "unknown error" on the decades old 752 which led to a lengthy ground delay while they checked it out. Being up front, I was able to overhear the mechanics convo with the pilot and it wasn't looking promising so I deplaned, chatted with an agent at the gate on got on the next flight to ATL (last seat). I was able to make it to ATL with a 45min layover and hop on my MUC flight. My original flight got "delayed" about 10 hours.
Settling into my seat, I was excited to be on the 764 (another old airframe) but prefer this seat without the door like on the 359s. I was last to board because of my previous delay but was quickly greeted and given my PDB.

The pilot came out an told a dad joke around "Have you heard about the new restaurant on the Moon? Great food but no atmosphere." I like when they came out as a provides a personal touch and a bode of confidence of who's up front. That said, I partly prefer this route since it is "long" enough to be able to get in a meal and a rest.

I preordered the Lamb Meatballs which were quite nice. The soup, salad were fine and the burrata was actually the standout…the red dish was a jam that went well on a hunk of bread.

I skipped dessert and tried to rest. The bedding and seat itself were pretty comfortable. Unfortunately a lot of turbulence and a crying baby up front limited me to a series of cat naps.
About an hour out from MUC it was time for breakfast. I got to chatting with my stewardess about where she was from in Bavaria and she mentioned she was from the town I was headed to around Bamberg. She recommended the yogurt as she didnt like any of the "fake egg" dishes that get loaded from the states :). The yogurt was quite good and I really enjoyed the coconut/mango.

My new friend wrote down a list of bierkellers to visit while I was in town, sharing below for the adventurous. Overall a really nice flight and a route I'll take again and again.

Hey
Seems like this flight was a bit of a nightmare due to delays, turbolences and babies :/ hope you better luck next time
I totally agree with you on the personal touch on passenger announcements, I've noticed this thing flying with DL in 2022 and I was positively surprised
I'm glad I made it but definitely frustrating being on the first flight out to avoid delays, having a 5 hour connection buffer and still almost missing the flight. The vast majority on that first flight ended up with much longer days than me
