CHANGING GATE WITHIN TERMINAL 1 FRA
20th March 2024, 9 AM
This is a continuation of my first leg of the journey, BLR-FRA-LAX. My first flight, BLR-FRA, was just on time (about 10 minutes late)!
I read many positive and negative comments about transit at FRA. Fortunately, everything went super smooth for me at FRA.
As soon as I arrived at Terminal 1, I quickly walked towards Terminal 1 (Gate Z64), which connects via walk and train!
Below is a picture of a long walk to Gate Z. And waiting for the connecting train within terminal 1.

Arrived at the Z64 gate and waiting for boarding the flight. The layover of 1hr 20min was good enough actually if you do not stop in between and be a little quick.
Because there was a security check - no need to take of electronic items out of the bag or taking off the shoes it's a simple metal detector security check and the immigration - where they put a stamp over my boarding pass (nothing on my passport - it is only for verification)!
Arrived at Z64

IN FLIGHT EXPERIENCE FRA-LAX
There was again food 3 times in the flight. Somewhat better than my first flight BLR-FRA. But again I have pre-booked my Veg Meal so again I got my food before everyone in this flight.

The inside view of the flight and entertainment screen. Good thing was I booked Aisle seat again which helps me to walk around the flight and people were taking cookies and tea/coffee number of times at the counter.

LAX ARRIVAL AND IMMIGRATION
Arrived at LAX about 10 minutes late.

20th March 2024, LAX Airport 2PM. Huge crowd at LAX took around 60-70 minutes for my turn for the immigration.

My luggage successfully made it to BRL to LAX. 24 hours journey and a sharp transit through FRA.

I guess it's been a long time since I've seen a review on the LH 747-8i because I was surprised at how old-school the cabin looks on a relatively new aircraft (though not that new anymore). Still the cabin with the little screens looks like it's 15-20 years old...way older than the age of the plane.
Remember to take the foil off the meal before taking a photo next time ? Would be nice to see how it looked
Thanks for sharing!
Wow! So nice to read a report of the LH 747-8i. Brings back very fond memories of flying this bird. Makes me sad that a lot of airlines did away with the queen of the skies.
That screen looks ancient as well with the cabin. Much like even with their PE and J products as well. F is a little better but still. One would think that the retrofit is long overdue after hearing they plan to keep them in their fleet for a while.
The only good aspect of a long line at LAX is that your luggage was already there when you came out.
Thanks for sharing this flight report. Beautiful views of the wing and the clear blue sky!
