Welcome to another trip report!
This will be the last leg of three flights traveling from Cancun all the way to Denver via Mexico City & Atlanta. Having arrived from Mexico City on a fascinating 757 aircraft, it was time to go through the good ole immigration and customs routine. The line to go through customs and immigration were quite long as many arrivals from Central America and Europe seemed to have arrived all at once. However we had a good 2.5 hr connection time here in ATL before our Denver flight which helped cushion any delay we may have unlike my 35 minute connection I had in my previous layover in Mexico City which was a nightmare. Ultimately we were through immigration in about 30 minutes and we were ushered to go through the 'special' TSA checkpoint meant for connecting passengers. The TSA officers there were very inefficient and took another 25 minutes or so before we finally made it airside.
Since we had arrived at the International concourse (concourse E) we had to take the air train all the way to concourse A which took just a few minutes.

At around this time I had received a notification through the Delta app that my flight had been delayed for about an hour. A later found out that it was due to crew being stuck in NYC.
To help kill some time I decided to do a bit of plane spotting.
Here's a Boeing 737-900ER arriving from Indianapolis.

Here a unique aircraft, the Boeing 757-300 (better known as the flying pencil) arriving from Phoenix. I had the pleasure of flying on a B757-300 back in January of 2020 from Detroit to Tampa, good memories :).

Here's my Airbus A321 that'll take me to Denver this evening.

Some information about my plane:
Flight number: DL 391
Aircraft: Airbus A321-211
Registration: N365DN
Delivered: November 10, 2016
Age: 6.5 years
boarding

Boarding began shortly after and I boarded with Main cabin 1 group.

seat
Made it to my seat 17F in Main Cabin

Always a pleasure seeing a PTV on a domestic flight :).

A look at the tray table which is of standard size and extendable.

The view out my window.

One of two CFM International CFM56-5B3 engines that power this aircraft.

The FA's came by through the cabin offering complimentary headphones.

Boarding is complete and today's flight load is completely full at 100% up to Denver this evening.

pushback / takeoff

Safety video began playing.

Looks like something serious happened there.

We'll be departing off runway 26L.

Until next time Atlanta!

inflight service
About 30 minutes into flight the FA's sprang into the cabin to conduct the onboard service.

The service consisted of a choice of snack and a choice of soft drink. For my snack I went for sun chips and for my drink I went for a tomato juice. It seems that DL only carries the spicy Bloody Mary mix as their tomato juice which honestly doesn't taste that good on its own.

Cheers!

It's worth mentioning that DL now offers free wifi which is a game changer in the airline industry.

The captain did mention at the beginning of the flight that we'd be flying a more northerly route to avoid storms in the midwest.

Lincoln, Nebraska

The rest of the flight went pretty uneventful and decided to nap for the remainder of the flight. I later woke up to the announcement that we began our initial descent into Denver.

initial descent / landing

Denver in the distance.

Welcome to Denver!

arrival / deplaning
We arrived at the gate 1 hour and 10 minutes late.

One last look at our Airbus A321, thanks for the safe journey!

This concludes the trip report, thanks for reading!
