Lufthansa Senator Lounge (CDG)
After a surprisingly quick trip through passport control at CDG, I made my way to the Lufthansa lounge at CDG. The Star Alliance lounge unfortunately was in the non-Schengen area so I couldn't access it without going through passport control on my way out. I only had a short layover here and didn't think it would be worth it.
The Lufthansa lounge is located in Terminal 1, Satellite 6, in the basement.
Importantly, I was finally able to select seats for my flight to IAD here (for some reason the agent wasn't able to do it on the phone). The front desk agent helped me with that and then printed me new boarding passes for my next two flights on LH.

The Senator Lounge had a variety from sofa chairs, to workstations, to tables. The outlet situation here wasn't great either. There is also a closet for you to hang your own coats/jackets.
The beverage station remained busy throughout so I couldn't get a clean picture, but you had your options of coffee, tea, various juices, and self-serve alcohol.

There was a nice bread selection along with hot and cold breakfast options. For the hot dishes: scrambled eggs, porridge, sausage and potatoes were available.
There was also a large display of celebrating Galette de Rois as part of the festive season. There was a funny hand drawn "King" to go with the celebratory display.

LH1027
My ride to Frankfurt was on D-AIUJ, a 9 years-old Airbus A320-200.
Boarding began on-time at 8:15am.

Lufthansa has the standard European blocked middle seat business class. I was seated in 4D for this flight.

At first I hoped I was lucky enough to get no one in the window seat, but alas it wasn't meant to be. There was a bit of a delay with takeoff clearance. We were scheduled for a 8:40am departure, but didn't push back until 9:12am.
After taxing for a while we took off at 9:24am.
There was Wifi available on this flight, with prices as shown below.

Service began 8 minutes after takeoff, I had a glass of water and sparkling wine (actually, I couldn't remember whether it was sparkling wine or champagne).

Breakfast was served all at once on a tray (as expected on a flight this short). Nothing exciting about this meal, but at least the croissant was warm. I was offered refills on my drinks this flight, but declined–no need for the extra calories if its cheap wine (and also 9am).

After the meal we got a little chocolate.

While I didn't purchase a Wifi plan, I could still track the flight path using the Lufthansa portal.

We landed at 10:11am and reached Gate A11 at 10:19am (19 minutes late). The gate was conveniently close to passport control.
Thanks for sharing this FR. The LH Lounge at CDG is certainly a dungeon with no natural light, but fits in with the utilitarian product LH offers onboard as well. For such a short flight, a continental breakfast is appropriate and still commendable considering the packaged snack you would get on a US flight of similar length.
Thanks for reading, NGO85.
It's hard to tell what direction Lufthansa wants to go in right now. Allegris (setting the delay aside) is supposed to promise new luxury, but everything else seems to be trending towards average at best.
The LH lounge looks depressing being in a windowless basement, though I guess at least it's good there's a lounge in the Schengen gates. Too bad you couldn't get into the recently renovated *A Lounge because of the whole Schengen thing (at least I think it was recently renovated; I be wrong since I don't really follow *A news too much).
The meh lounge is very much in line with the meh LH Eurobiz experience. Especially with the ancient NEK seats...these old cabins just look so drab and tired. Meal looks fine, but nothing special.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for reading, Kevin!
It's going to be hard for me to ever try to the *A Lounge unless I'm flying United back home from CDG, but honestly I'd strongly prefer to be flying Air France out of CDG at any opportunity. Hopefully I can try La Premiere some day. The lounge honestly was a bit of an upgrade from the LH intra-Euro J experience. I juts find LH's J experience overall to be bewildering--what's the goal here, to be the least competitive of the European Big 3?
