Welcome to the fourth part of the trip to Asia, this report will cover the part from Fukuoka to Hong Kong. After 5 days in Japan, it was time for me to return to Europe. We took the underground railway to the domestic terminal and then with the shuttle bus to the international terminal.

Cathay Pacific Airways's check in counters were located in aisle K, and only a few people were queuing. On the other hand, the low-cost airline, Hong Kong Express, was flooded with passengers.

Again, I had finished the online check-in and stored the boarding pass in my phone.

The paper boarding pass.

After we checked our luggages, I went upstairs to the observation deck. I have been using this airport for several times, but this was the first time that I visited the observation deck.

The airport is not very big, so I won't expect much traffic on the apron.

Jeju Air B737-800 HL8539, to Busan as 7C1453 at 15:00pm

Asiana A321Neo, HL8356 to Seoul Incheon as OZ133 at 14:50pm

The area of the observation deck was a little bit small.

Hong Kong Airlines A330-300, B-HLI to Hong Kong as HX641 at 16:00pm.

About one hour to boarding, we passed through security check and immigration.

The departure lobby was very crowded

In just a few minutes we arrived at our departure gate.

Also the same time, our plane arrived from Hong Kong.

Then I decided to have a quick meal and went to a restaurant called SORA TERRACE Kitchen behind the gate.

I ordered a pork curry rice and a beer.

After I finished the meal, I found that our gate was relocated to 59, which is at the other end of the terminal. And the boarding time was delayed for 20 minutes until 16:30pm.

Our plane was parked at gate.

At 16:24pm, with about 15 minutes behind schedule, boarding eventually started. On the way to jet bridge, I had a good view of our plane. B-LAE, delivered to Cathay Pacific Airways in July 2007.

Walking down the jet bridge.

My seat 70A. The plane is 2-4-2 configured with 28 seats in business class and 265 in economy class, which is different from the last flight.

View from my seat. In the far end, there was an B777-200 from Omni Air International.

Back of the seat. The welcome interface was showing the seat number, and temperature of the destination.

At 16:40pm, doors were closed for departure, and I got a blanket from the crew.

At 16:44pm, it was announced that the flight would be 3 hours and 14 minutes. Safety demonstration video was then played.
5 minutes later, pushback was started.

Taxing to the runway.

At 17:05pm, we took off from runway.

We made a U-Turn after takeoff and headed towards south.

The biggest problem for my flight was that the IFE was not really responding, so I pressed the service light, but no one was coming, I guess they were busy preparing the catering service.

6 minutes after takeoff, seatbelt sign was turned off, and I went to the lavatory in front of me.

Southern part of Kyushu.

Smoke from Sakurajima volcano could be seen on closer look.

At 17:39pm, the meal was served, there were two options and I took the chicken one with an orange juice. I told the crew about the IFE issue and he reset the system for me.

The other option with seafood noodles.

This time I got the Chocolate flavors for the Häagen-Dazs ice-cream.

The sun began to set.

I had a tea after the meal. About 20 minutes later, I fell asleep and took a nap for about 40 minutes. I woke up at 19:38pm.

About 5 minutes later, announcement from the flight deck that we were going to descend in 30 minutes, landing time would be 20 minutes pass seven.

Cabin during descend. I was also very surprised because the cabin wasn't dimmed for landing.

The rest of the flight was uneventful, as we approached Hong Kong from the South of Lantau Island, and nothing could be seen outside the window.

At 19:18pm, we landed on the Hong Kong International Airport, the flight time was 3 hours 13 minutes. With a long taxi from the new runway to the terminal, we finally reached our parking position at gate 33.

Too bad about the IFE
Lucky you, it's happened to me a few times. I've had long-haul flights in J where the IFE didn't work the whole flight.
The meal options look good once again.
