Welcome to my very first report! Unfortunately it will be quite short in length as I continue to try and find my feet! Unfortunately no lounge access here today, as I had completely forgotten to register for the AMEX Priority Pass benefit :( - however there was a couple of lounges in the international section to try.

Today's aircraft is B-HLT, delivered in 2001 to Cathay Pacific, where she served until 2019, when she was transferred to regional subsidiary, Cathay Dragon. HLT was transferred back to Cathay Pacific in October 2020, but remained in Alice Springs until May 2022 when she was returned to service.

Seat Today was 54A - load was incredibly light today, probably c. 1/3. Return flight was similar. Seats are comfortable, infotainment has been updated but still runs on the same archaic system, incredibly slow but has good content.

Legroom is okay - with the light load on this flight it wasn't really an issue.

Good view of the beautiful 330 wing.
Flight routing
- 1CX156 - Brisbane to Hong Kong
- 2CX770 - Phuket to Hong Kong
- 3CX157 - Hong Kong to Brisbane
We pushed back from the gate roughly an hour and forty three minutes behind schedule. Flight time today was planned at 3 hours 24 mins and was 3 hours 12 minutes.

We were lucky enough to see a Qatar 777 in from Doha.

Also seeing the Emirates 777 towed off stand and the deplaning of the El Al flight, which obviously originated in Tel Aviv ( I hear Tel Aviv is beautiful and am definitely eager to visit).

Beautiful views of Phuket on departure.

Lunch was served, it was a grilled chicken with a tomato sauce and olives, it was actually shockingly good for a CX Y meal…..

Dessert was the standard Haagen-Daz. I think the picture is blurry based on the eagerness to consume it…

Hi there, thanks for sharing your first review here with us and welcome! A very good regional experience on CX. The A330s are now more comfortable than the 777s with the 2-4-2 configuration vs the tight 3-4-3 on the 777s. The padding looks comfortable as well, much better padded than most seats these days. Meals looks very good for a 3h flight. I’d flown this route years ago a few times with HX and TG and catering looks comparable, though TG was very good from what I remember.
Thanks again for sharing and looking forward to future reports!
