Hi,
Being on transfer, I directly headed to the common usage Aspire Lounge that Cathay Pacific uses here in Amsterdam.
On the way I could see some splendid widebodies waiting for their long trips.

The lounge is located in the upper floor.

I was extremely full and messy when I arrived.

Luckily I found a seat in a more quiet corner - at least the Lounge offers excellent apron views.

Food and drinks selection however is extremely mediocre and all looks somehow chaotic. E.g. cups were missing again and again.

I just had some soup and left the lounge rather soon.

Some more aircraft on the way to my boarding gate.

My great looking A350 waiting for the flight to Hongkong.

Boarding started soon in a very orderly way with good respect of priority lanes.
A very friendly crew welcomed me onboard and I passed the extremely huge Business Class cabin to my aisle seat in the back.

The seat is very roomy and one of the most private and comfortable I have experienced so far.

Plenty of stowage areas in several corners including an area with a door having a mirror.

A mattress, blanket & comfy pillow were already there.

Same for the nicely designed menu including a breakfast order card in Hotel room style.

An amenity kit with a nice selection was also already there.

Soon a welcoming glass of champagne was offered.
Followed by a hot towel.

The cabin was prepared for departure and the crew ware starting to take drink and meal orders on the ground. This happened in a very chaotic way with crew jumping from seats to another without any pattern. I guess they followed some frequent flyer protocol on their tablet - but for the customer this is very confusing as you always think your row maybe is next and then the cabin crew suddenly runs back to row 1! In the end my orders were only taken after take off.
We started a long taxi and then departed for a flight of ca. 11 hours.

After take off also I could place my drink and meal orders. Service started with aperitif and nuts where I had the great tasting signature cocktail.

Next the trolley appeared and my started was served on nice looking stylish porcelain.

Warm bread was offered from a basket.

Next came the very tasty main dish: beef.

I ended my meal with dessert, fruits and a chocolate offered from a nice box. The whole meal was very well presented and all tasted extremely good.

Some views of the lavatory during the flight.

I watched some movies from a big selection including having ice cream and had a rather good sleep on the wide and comfortable lie flat seat - definitely one of the better products around.

Over Chinese airspace cabin lights were turned on and hot towels were offered.

This was followed by a nice and tasty breakfast.

The aircraft also featured tail cameras which is nice if you do not have a window seat.

We landed on time and docked at the modern Hongkong airport terminal.

What - a - difference with LH! Yes, this one is long haul and not intra European, but the difference is too much to be only about distances.
Hi FlyAlex,
Thank you so much for sharing your CX experience. Great report! I am wondering why you didn't go to BA Lounge next door instead of Aspire?
Greetings, Ariel
