In October 2022, I booked a return ticket from Munich to Porto via Lisbon. This is the second time for me to fly with TAP Air Portugal. Last time it was in 2015 and I really had a good experience with them. By the time when I booked the ticket, the flight from Munich to Lisbon was originally operated by A321neo. On the day of flight, it turned out that it was replaced by an A321ceo. Currently, there are only 3 A321ceo left in TAP Air Portugal's fleet. (CS-TJE, CS-TJF, CS-TJH) Hello, this report will cover the flight from Munich to Lisbon.
Since I booked the Economy BASIC fare class, seat reservation was not included. During the Online check-in, it automatically assigned a middle seat for me. So I paid and changed myself to the window seat.
I arrived at the airport at 10:20am, roughly two hours prior to the departure. My flight today would be departing from gate G48.

There were a few passengers in front of the check in counters, but it did not take so much time for us to check our luggage to Porto.

Then we went directly through the security check

EVA Air launched flight to Munich from Taipei since November 2022. First time for me to see the airline in Munich. She arrived from Taipei in the morning as BR71 and would fly back to Taipei as BR72 at noon.

Lufthansa A340-600 D-AIHP arrived from Miami as LH461 in the morning, she would fly to Boston in the afternoon as LH424.

There were already lots of passengers waiting as we arrived at gate G48. It is located at one end of the terminal. At about 12:00pm the ground staff at the counter announced a 20 minutes delay. I was a bit concern because the transit time was just 55 minutes and I already had the feeling that I would miss it.

At the same time, the ground staff at the counter told all passengers to have document check and get the sticker on the boarding pass, so as to speed up the boarding process.

At 12:00pm our plane from Lisbon arrived, and that was the original boarding time. So I am pretty sure that I am going to miss the connecting flight. Tap Portugal A321ceo, CS-TJH delivered to TAP Air Portugal in March 2017. The plane was actually built in August 2004, she flew with Iberia until 2017. Currently, she carries the name ''Manoel de Oliveira''.

Boarding was started at 12:54pm

The first 5 rows were assigned as business class. There are basically two types of seats in the plane and they could be easily recognized by their color respectively. From the first row to row 15, these are the Comfort Area with seats in red. They have more leg room, USB outlet, tablet mount, adjustable headrest and are reclinable. From row 16 onwards is the Standard Area with seats in Green, which do not possess the aforementioned features.
My seat 18F, which is in the standard area.

Back of the seat.

There was a coat hang on the right side of the seat.

View out of the window. Lufthansa A320-200, D-AIQW just arrived from Hamburg as LH2059, she would fly again to Hamburg as LH2055

At 13:20pm pushback was started. Since there was no PTV, the crew demonstrated in person.

Taxi to runway.

At 13:28pm we took off from RWY26L.

30 minutes in the air, the service was started. Like most of the European carriers, TAP Air Portugal introduced the buy onboard service. All the food and drinks cost some money, except a cup of water. As we were flying away from Germany into Switzerland, the cloud gradually built up and we could not see the land below.

Soon I fell asleep and about one and a half hour later I woke up again. Then I visited the lavatory at the back.

Cabin view. Looked like we had a full loading today.

By that time, we were flying over Spain, near Valladolid.

Seat pocket item. Safety card and menu.

At 14:06 announcement from cockpit that we had started descending into Lisbon airport.

We made a U-turn over the southern coast of Lisbon.

Final approach

At 16:40pm, we landed on RWY03. Total flight time was 3 hours 12 minutes.

Our flight route. We passed through Switzerland, France and Spain.

At last, we parked at a remote bay and this mean we had to take the bus to the terminal. Another TAP Air Portugal A321neo, CS-TJK parked next to us. She just arrived from Copenhagen as TP759.

Once I switched on my phone again, i received SMS that my connecting flight to Porto was rebooked into the next flight TP1970 which was scheduled to depart at 17:00pm. But another SMS came afterwards that this new flight was also delayed for 45 minutes.

Thanks for reading!
One airline used to have that arrangement down here, too. I wonder if it's still available. I'll have to find out.
I see that TAP are making a very clear difference between their standard and "Comfort" products. I know a certain airline (LAT..cough...cough...AM...cough...cough...) that offers a Premium cabin that makes you doubt if it's really worth to pay extra for it. But depriving you of a charging port these days, when charging ports are the standard for a standard seat???? That's too much. Almost cruel!
Thanks for sharing! :D
