TO GATWICK
Arrived from Paris-CDG to London Gatwick, I have a lot of time before my next flight. So I bought online an access to the lounge N°1 of the South Terminal from where my flight leaves. I take the val that links the two terminals.

A sign indicates the check-in area for your airline, and at the same time all the airlines that use this terminal.

Quite a few counters are open for passengers travelling in premium eco. Norse has two flights: N0701 to JFK and N0702 to Oslo. Both are operated by Boeing 787s.

The agent who takes care of me is charming and very cheerful. I receive my boarding pass in no time.

The general queue is much longer.

I pass through the checkpoints in no time at all - Gatwick is definitely a very fluid place.

the inevitable Duty Free, where I never stop.

The central pLACE which benefits from daylight.

THE N°1 LOUNGE
The various lounges are located upstairs. For me, it's the N°1 Lounge.

An attendant checks in and welcomes me. I enter the main room, which is bright and offers great views of the traffic.

A large bar sits in the center.

Smaller rooms are available for work or entertainment.

In addition to the bar, there's a self-service hot and cold buffet. You can choose between a full British Breakfast or a continental breakfast.

My selection: scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage.

The views are superb and the weather is perfect.

A small glass of Proseco rosé before leaving the lounge. Cheers!

I head downstairs to the departure gate.

A long corridor leads to the boarding gates on either side of the peninsula.

I would have headed there, but my flight number is 702!

ABOARD NORSE 787-9
Boarding has already begun when I arrive. A friendly steward greets passengers at the gate and directs them to their seats.

I turn left and discover the premium cabin, where the purser and a stewardess are waiting for me.

I take my seat in 2A. The lovely young stewardess says to me: You are Christophe? you will be our only passenger in this cabin today! So I have the cabin all to myself!

A landscape adorns the separation between the cabin and the central galley.

Seeing me taking photos, the stewardesses chat with me and agree to pose.

Back at my seat, the purser offers me a fruit juice as a welcome drink.

The seat is a good, wide recliner with a good pitch.

In the bag are the safety instructions and the buy-on-board menu.

and the buy on board menu.

Before boarding ends, I take a quick look around the back. The cabin looks nice.

Back to the front as the doors close.

Our plane is pushed back. I'm treated to a demonstration of private security.

British Airways is present with a number of Boeing 777s flying to sunny destinations.

One of jetBlue's Airbus A321LRs heads back to the USA.

Then it's our turn to take to the skies.

The cabin lights up with a blue net.

The curtain is drawn.

The purser offers me a drink and a snack. I choose a Coke and chips. She'll be back later to offer me more.

I read a little and doze off.

I go two rows back to take a photo of the reactor.

As we move forward, the sky clouds over. The captain announces some turbulence on arrival.

Shortly before landing, the mood lighthing is switched on and the cabin lights up in all colors.

We break through the foggy cloud cover and I discover the snow.

The stewardesses come to take their leave and invite me to go through door 2L. In passing, a photo of the galley.

WELCOME TO OSLO
The steward at the gate greets me and I exit the plane on time. Good Bye 787!

Crossing the border is a breeze.

I take the train to the city center where my hotel is.
