Hi,
Actually it was coincidence that I ended up on the first commercial 787 dreamliner flight of Lufthansa this morning. When I booked this trip, this flight was still planned to be operated by a standard narrowbody Airbus. But then an aircarft change came up in the end this was the very first official 787 flight of Lufthansa carrying paying passengers! A nice surprise.
As I was on a rush from a delayed inbound flight, I was one of the last passengers boarding the plane and the cabin was already full when I reached my nice window seat in the Premium Economy cabin of this dreamliner which was sold as Economy class on this domestic hop but was available to me being a Lufthansa Miles & More Gold member.

Some nice morning atmosphere during final boarding & pushback.

The seat is comfortable and offers a very good pitch.

The tray table is in the armrest.

A view of the seat controls.

We powered into the morning sky passing Frankfurt skyline for the short 35 minutes hop to Munich.

Nice to see the 787 finally in the Lufthansa fleet:

Some views of the bulkhead section showcasing the Lufthansa logo at the entrance area.

As on any other short Lufthansa domestic flight, the only offer in Economy was a bottle of water and a chocolate.

Flight passed by extremely quickly and soon we landed at foggy Munich Airport.

Thanks for reading,

Servus Alex,
Great report!
Looking forward to fly this beautiful plane in the coming months, especially in the "new" 1-2-1 Business Class.
Best regards as always
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing this first look at the LH B789 on English side! It’s clear the investment was only in the J cabin. The W product looks only marginally different than the current offering, not sure why the ZIMprivacy seats weren’t accelerated for inclusion into these cabins. Thanks again!
