Review of Thai Airways flight from Bangkok to Melbourne in Business

Being on transfer from Europe with a connection time of ca. 2 hours I headed to the central main Royal Orchid Lounge of Thai Airways. 

The lounge is huge and offers many different seating zones which are calm and provide a rather nice atmosphere. However in total the lounge provides a somehow outdated look and feel. However washrooms were really nice, modern and clean.

There are different food and drink zones within the lounge that provide a nice selection.

Also some fresh hot dishes can be ordered.

I was not hungry at all - so I actually only had some coffee and water.

Bangkok terminal building is nice with tons of shops and nice airside views through the big glass walls.

Boarding onto the A350 started on time and with priority boarding first.

A very friendly crew welcomed everybody this morning and I took my nice and comfortable window seat in the last row of Business Class cabin.

A look outside while settling in.

Blanket, pillows, slippers and a Lacoste amenity kit were already placed on my seat.

Strange enough this Lacoste kit had better content incl. hand lotion compared to the Mandarina Duck one I received on my earlier night flight from Europe.

Headsets were also placed on the seat. The entertainment selection was ok but actually not too many movies were on offer and they missed real good and new ones. This is what other airlines do much better.

Hot towels and welcome drinks were served.

No digital or printed menus were available and a cabin crew came around before departure mentioning the different options and taking orders.

We taxied to the runway with a delay of ca. 40 minutes.

Finally we rolled down the runway and departed Bangkok with some nice views.

Climbing out:

The flight was smooth and service started with a drinks trolley where I opted for some tea and apple juice to start.

Next a tasty breakfast was served as a one-tray meal. The Thai noodles I had were extremely tasty.

Hot towels were also provided several times during the flight. They are of very good quality and also feature a nice Thai branding.

I watched some movies before we reached the North of Australia. About 3,5 hours out of Melbourne the cabin crew started the main meal dinner service with nuts and a nice small amouse bouche tray.

More hot towels of course.

Table clothes were laid out and appetizer and warm bread were nicely presented without any tray.

Drink refills were regularly provided.

My tiger prawn & lemon risotto main dish was excellent as well.

Some great sunset views accompanied the nice and tasty dinner.

Cheese and Port wine.

Ending with dessert, hot drink and digestif.

We descended into Melbourne and landed perfectly on time.

Parking at a busy International evening apron.
