Our vacations were nearly over and we have now to go to Kuala Lumpur, our last destination before we head back home.
For this flight we chose Lufthansa. I bought our oneway tickets and LH was the cheapest at the time I bought them.

We took a taxi from the Novotel to the airport and we were dropped off in front of the terminal. The Lufthansa check-in counters were packed with people, there was a big group of customers queueing. We joined the queue and after 15 minutes, a ground agent pulled us out of the queue and took us to the First Class counter to check-in. Why ? I don't know… maybe because we were the only westerners…

We got our seats and the bags were sent off to our aircraft ! It was now time to go through immigration and customs formalities.

On the other side the duty-free shops ! !

selling the local specialties !!!

Then we head to our gate to wait for our flight.

There's a lot of people queueing for boarding.

Our aircraft is here. Today our Airbus 340-600 is D-AIHI Möchengladbach

Ground staff is waiting for the last few customers to enter the boarding lounge.

We are greeted at the door by a European and a Thai cabin attendant and they direct us to the next aisle and we make our way to our row.

Legroom is tight for a 187cm guy like me.

When boarding is over we are shown the safety video.

Everyone is paying attention to the safety procedures.

How to get out of this Airbus !

After the safety video is over, they launch the entertainment system.

Then the crew starts to give out sandwiches followed by the drink cart.

The sandwiches were OK, nothing to write home about…
When flying on a Lufthansa A340-600 it is compulsory to visit the toilets downstairs !

We are getting closer to Kuala Lumpur and the sun will set soon.

35 minutes till the end of the flight !

The crew rest area escape hatch !

Thank you Lufthansa and Star Alliance !

We have landed on time in Kuala Lumpur and every gets off here.

We have to catch the train to the main building.

And then a little bit of a trek through the boutiques to reach the immigration and customs and we have to pick up our bags.

Very interesting review of your LH flight from, if i'm not mistaken, one of the busiest 5th freedom airport! does the flight go back to bkk or continue to FRA?
It would be amazing to be able to fly the JU52 on a regular route ;-)
Many thanks for sharing
It is true that BKK has a lot of airlines using 5th freedom flights.
The Lufthansa flight goes FRA-BKK-KUL-BKK-FRA, it doesn't fly back to FRA from KUL.
Thanks for this detailed report! I had no idea that LH flew this 5th freedom route. Nice pictures of the cabin. It looks modern and bright.
Indeed that toilet area is an aviation geek must-visit. Although I didn't know that there was an extra toilet at the aft galley, It doesn't even show on LH's seatmaps.
I liked that addition to the LH Magazin, it was the only thing it was missing for me.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this FR
The fare was the best and there is always plenty of seat awards on this LH leg
Thank you for this frenglish report.
I can see it's quite easy to get fifth freedom flights within Asia.
I like the lavatories situated under the main deck as well as the water fountain.
LOL ! I didn't see that there were 2 sentences in french ! Thank you, it is now corrected !!
Thank you for this report ! I checked this route many times and LH actually came very often as the cheapest option !
