Hi,
Due to some Covid document check I had to stop at the Air France / KLM counters to receive my boarding pass. This luckily went quickly.

After using Fast Track security I was airside soon and walked along a very lonely Module D of Terminal 1. Soon I found the stairs up to the lounge gallery.

The entrance to the Air France lounge is quite hidden and does not look extremely inviting.

The lounge is ok but really nothing special. Luckily it was very empty and quiet this afternoon.

A small buffet offers some drinks and food of medium quality - nothing to get excited about.

Not much action on the apron - a Vueling Airbus pushing back and my KLM Boeing 737 waiting for boarding.

Boarding started on time and soon I was at my window seat. The cabin looks quite old fashioned and somehow worn. Still the seat pitch and comfort were fine.

Disinfection towels have been offered at the entrance.

A Turkish Airlines Airbus passed by shortly before we started taxiing.

No welcome drink or water or anything else specifically for Business Class guests - a rather substandard welcome compared to other airlines. We pushed back on time and a manual safety demonstration started.

Quickly we departed into sunset skies for a flight time of 1 hour 10 minutes.

Once we reached our cruising altitude the curtains were closed (at least somehow) by the flight attendants - actually I remember KLM crews to be chatty and friendly. But the crew on this flight was surprisingly cold and bored - I have had more friendly crews even on some Lufthansa flights in the past which used to have cold crews.

KLM is one of the few airlines which still provides printed inflight magazines in covid times - a nice feature that they skipped this measure of cost cutting.

Sunset continued and soon a trolley arrived in my row.

I was served this paper meal box containing a cold dinner.

I was surprised to only receive wood cutlery and no real cutlery. I think this meal presentation is quite substandard for a Business Class and KLM should bring back proper trays, porcelain and cutlery like almost all of the major European competitors.

A small menu was also placed inside the box.

The meal tasted quite good - however e.g. some bread and butter was missing completely.
Drinks were offered as well and I had some white wine. At least real glasses were used.

The flight progressed and I ordered some coffee which came in a nice cup on a small tray.

Before descending I had a Baileys.

We started our approach and the sea came into sight.

A very nice final approach during sunset into Schiphol airport ended our flight.

We landed ahead of schedule and taxiied to our gate at C gates pier. After disembarkation I spotted a nice looking Airbus in the new ITA Airways colors.

Thanks for reading,

Thanks Alex. I concur, KLM crews are normally warm and chatty. On Cityhopper even more than mainline. Though a nice hop. Looking forward to where you’re heading next. Long haul?!? Cheers, Vince
