ciao roma!
Hello everyone and welcome to this FR from my first weekend from Rome - one of many, really love this city!
I think this was my first experience in a low-cost other than RYR and EZY, so I was looking forward to compare!
These were the good old days of true low-cost as this cost me just £48!
Flight routing
- 1Ryanair - STN - CIA
- 2Norwegian FCO - LGW
Here is the booking details

Here is the 189 seats cabin map of the B737-800.
Fun fact: Norwegian puts as many seats as RYR on the type, however the seats are way more confortable.

A quick touristic bonus of the eternal city…

at roma - fiumicino - leonardo da vinci airport
First good point, Norwegian operates from the main airport, not the secondary and further airport.

We checked in at Terminal 3, usually the international departures hall to have our boarding pass printed again, just in case. Remember it was 2013, I wasn't used much to fly and I was scared the boarding pass I printed at the office wasn't good enough.

I did not register to the cash point system, I think since I only flew on 2 more occasions with them.

The flight was departing from the E gates of the terminal 3, the square shaped terminal that you need a train to go to (E31-E44)

Italians very usuallay have a high sense of fashion but this part of the terminal hasn't been part of it so it seems!

onboard the b737-800
I was really pleasently surprised by the cabin with the mood lighting, the pitch that was correct, the seats too and the screens that were displaying cartons during the flight… In a nutshell something so far similar to what BAW offers but for half the price!

Aircraft: Boeing B737-8OJP
Registration: LN-NGA
Engines: 2x CFM56
Age: 9 Years
Layout: Y189
Observation: equipped with the Wifi service
But wait… there was also the wifi operating on this flight and FOR FREE!
I remember, all young and naive that I was that I messaged friends and my parents! Nobody believed me!
We were all sending pictures to show that we were on the plane!! Youngster are quickly excited aren't they?!
Here was the safety demonstration also played on the screens.!
Time for take off in the dark..

The airline is has a strict Buy on Board policy. Not even for water.

A little tour of the cabin towards the toilets..

And another amazing thing was that apparently Norwegian was the first airline in the world to offer for free in flight entartainment app..

Finally the magazine review..

with of course some pages on the dossier of the month

the extend of the network, not as impressive as RYR or EZY, but getting there.

And the really cool page about the tail signature.

at london - gatwick airport
We arrived at the South Terminal.

Time to get onto the train at the famous Gatwick airport train station
