TRIP from SAINT PETERSBURG
Hello dear Flight Reporters and readers!
Welcome to a series of flights that took me from London to St Petersburg.
Of course there were some direct flights with BA, but it was too expensive and not convenient for us as the flight was leaving in the morning.

For memory here is the routing

This was the sweet time when you could select your seats for free before checkin and we did so to sit next to each other.
For information, here is the seat map of an 200 seats an the A320 on lufthansa:

at dusseldorf airport

We arrived about 4 hours later with the bomb scare story and were rescheduled for the next day flight..
So after a short night at the hotel, we were up and heading towards the airport with a LH pre-booked cab.
Inside the half circular shaped ter;inal.

Once passed security, we ended up on the A concurse, which is usually used for domestic departures I believe.

To make things worse our flight was delayed of almost 2 hours (so even more added up to the total delay - my boss wasn't really impressed) so we went upstairs to do some plane spotting.

Our gate, with the Lufthansa / Germanwings counter.
One thing I find funny about the german airport is the outstanding effort to fit every colour but grey grey grey grey grey…

boarding happened with a strict respect of priorities and so we boarded almost last!
These e-gates were a first for me.

onboard the a320

Aircraft: Airbus A320-211
Registration: D-AIPE
Engines: 2x CFM56
Age: now 31 Years
Layout: Y168

And here is the oldest A321 I have ever flown into : a 24 years old (now 31!) aircraft!
I guess unlickuly for me, the seat wasn't as old…

Push back started, next to one of these Germanwings units

Take off

and rotate
look at all of these german OneWorld members, now all gone.

Above the ugly thick clouds

the complimentary service started. This was some sort of morning ham and cheese croissant. I apologise this was a picture from my mate seating on the other side of the corridor.

The magazine found onboard is okm had a few interesting articles not the most thick I would have ever seen.

The brand new Queen terminal at London Heathrow, AKA the terminal 2 at whih I was bound for.

Impressive european network

Global network is very much focusing on Asia and North America

Last turn on the new Queens Terminal

Welcome to the new terminal!

We arrived just near this impressive sculpture, where the elevators to the tube are.

Thanks Chris for sharing another "once upon in time" archive.
Complimentary service, access to the viewing terrace, ... if only we could turn back time.
