A new routing on KLM / AF to join friends for a dinner in Dusseldorf. That will be a full Embraer routing :)
Flight routing
- 1KL CityHopper - E90 - Business - EuroAirport > Amsterdam
- 2KL CityHopper - E90 - Business - Amsterdam > Dusseldorf
- 3AF by HOP! - E70 - Business - Dusseldorf > Paris CDG
- 4AF by HOP! - E70 - Business - Paris CDG > EuroAirport
My father dropped me off at 05:05AM, a bit too early for him :)

The airport was quiet:

AF/KL do not give any boarding pass via mobile app anymore, you can check in but you would need to get your printed BP at a desk, even not at a kiosk for documents checks purposes.

I had to buy cigarettes for my brother first:

Back to the boarding gate:

Just on time for the boarding:

That was via the tarmac, as I like!

Always a great moment walking to the plane, specially when it is not raining:

For me this is the nicest way to take a plane :)

We had to wait a bit since the assistance was still there to board three wheelchairs:

EasyJet to Mahon:

Door shoot:

The cabin, I really like it, far better than the one on the E75:

Safety card:

On time push back:

Corendon:

And off we go:

The sun rose on the other side of the plane:

This side all is well :)

Toilets tour and galley shoot:

The usual KL box is served:

Without the lids:

The flight is super quick, Amsterdam is covered by fog:

Landed:

EasyJet again:

KL Asia:

Embraer Farm:

The Purser told me that they are also going to Dusseldorf with the same plane and he'll see me in less than an hour :)

I decided to stay in the vincinity of the gate area as the walk to the lounge takes a good 10 minutes + 10 to come back and boarding was scheduled 30' before the flight, meaning I would have had 10 minutes in the lounge. No way for me.
Thanks a lot for your FR.
Classic and reliable flight - as usual with KL.
Catering is quite minimalistic but nicely presented, though.
No stop at the Skyview Lounge? :-)
Thanks for the comment ! The lounge wasn't open yet :)
Hi Stephan thanks for sharing this new series! I'm a fan of E-Jets in Economy, but there is very little differentiation between J and Y on airlines like AF, KL, and IB that don't block adjacent seats in J. While the seats look comfortable and well-padded, are are wider than most Economy seats on other aircraft, I'd still hate to pay for J and get stuck next to a stranger shoulder-to-shoulder--awkward!
If the price is right I suppose it could be worth it, especially for the additional points/miles, but I'm glad I live in the US where I know I'm at least getting a bigger seat when I pay for J (even if the service is crappy). Speaking of, that box, despite having decent contents for such a short flight, just feels so un-premium for Business class.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Kévin, thanks for the comment !
I share your opinion in full and after having flown with OS and LH earlier this summer, I decided to move most of my flights to Star Alliance. While not having first class style business seats, they at least block the adjacent seat on ERJ or CRJ. And the meals are far better than AF or KL.
A bientôt :)
