my first out of many trips to bordeaux

Air France doubling the XP status in 2020: 2 additional XPs
As part of my job, I have been travelling to Bordeaux a lot of times in the past year, up to a weekly basis at some point. I really enjoyed making the plane a regular place like some people have a regular coffee place, for me it was a place of excitment and where I regularly see some of the same cabin crew I kept running into.
I know this is just a small domestic flight, and it is hard to make it interesting but I'll try my best!

If you think of Bordeaux you are thinking of wine right? Well it also means caneles!! And from the longest shopping street in Europe: Rue Sainte Catherine!

AT BORDEAUX MERIGNAC AIRPORT

I arrived at Bordeaux airport with my new taxi friend, whom without the adventures in Bordeaux would have been different… He gaves us so many restaurants and trip recomendations that I gained a few kgs I must confess!

I didn't take any picture of the airport but basically we found that terminal B was closed down due to the extremly low traffic at BOD, and that all flights are only departing from the pier A.
To make things worse, not all of the concurse A was open and once the security quickly passed (we were just a handful of pax), I found myself awaiting for my flight at ground floor gate area - you know the one that are usually dedicated to paxbus…

An A320 arriving from ORY (yes at that time the "navette" was still a thing!)
Our Airbus arrived and parked next to this one.
onboard the a319
Boarding was launched and priorities weren't respected.. The funny thing is that we walked on the tarmac to use a stair to go to the plane… Why not the jetway?
Aircraft: Airbus A319-111
Registration: F-GRHQ
Engines: 2x CFM34
Age: 13 Years
Layout: Y100
Observation: With the hybrid blue wingtip livery
Our plane was exactly the same of the way out a few days ago… the only difference was my seat number!

I really like the "prawn" on the wingtips of AF new livery.
And take off!

Gear up

et petit virage sur la gauche pour suivre notre SID et la route vers Lyon.

Just before the service I went to the toilets… to of course do my business but to also sneakily take a picture of the cabin.. I don't know why but I always try to remain discreet.

The service was limited to a hot drink or water - exit the snacking option at this point of 2020.
So for once, instead of a coffee I went for a capuccino… If I had to travel on weekly basis, why not trying all the food onboard? XD

Flying over the Massif central volcanoes

Since the first lock down, Air France stopped printing its magazine, and so it is digitally that you can discover it; it is available on the Air France play app.

That's really a shame the paper versions have not been brought back on board I really prefer it this way… Do you think of my collection AF? ;p
And my favorite page below.. The other cool thing is that every aircraft is pictured like they would be in flight : with a wingflex!

Look how larger was the domestic network.. a pity!

The time up in the sky is definitely too short and it is really time to be on the ground again.. Approaching Lugdunum..

AT LYON - SAINT EXUPERY AIRPORT
During taxi we passed nearby the firestation and where usually some long term stored aircrafts are parked. Today we are in 2021 but we forgot that in every airports there were aircrafts parked.. And that some of them will not be seen again… (snif CRJs)

And at our parking stand..

As a bonus I'd like to show you the "collectables" that Air France offers on the app. I guess when it comes to aviation I am going back to my childhood, and like every man who has a passion, I have some sense of "achievement" when looking at these stats… I know silly right?
I am not sure why this is not accurate liek for instance I have been to toulon 4 times with Hop; or like I recently posted I have had a return flight from mexico..
