introduction
Hello Amigos,
This is a short series on a trip to DC I took back in 2017.
Routing was
Flight routing
- 1BOG-MIA AA A319
- 2MIA-DCA AA738
- 3DCA-MIA AA 738
- 4BOG-MIA AA 739
I didn't report the BOG-MIA segments as they were pretty much the same as this
Flight routing

Without further ado…let get it on.
transiting in mia
I arrived around 5 am to MIA on a redeye from BOG, getting through the CBP was painless and since I only had a carry-on there wasn't much troubble getting to my gate to DCA which was in the way older E gates.

I waited for my chance to board while chatting with my friends…in no time I was boarding the gorgeous silverjet.
boarding and cabin
The cabin was your regular AA cabin back then. I felt the space to be a bit more spacious than on the A319.

Seatback had American Way magazine and the BOB menu, which I didn't really care for.

taxi and takeoff
We took of towards the East and flew near Downtown and Wynwood, providing interesting views. This made up for being sit on the right side of the plane, which meant I would miss the cool views when landing in DCA.

There seemed to be some GCC meetup in Miami those days

Inflight
The takeoff was the highlight of the flight. At some point the FAs passed by and handed drinks.I tried to watch some tv on my tablet making use of the inflight wifi IFE. But I mostly slept. I had a busy day of work ahead.

landing at DCA
DCA boasts one of the best approaches in the world, over the Potomac River, which grants gorgeous views of DC. But you have to be seated on the left hand of the plane to get the gorgeous views. The right-hand side highlight is you are basically on top of Rosslyn's CBD, and nice views of the Pentagon.

Boarding took some while, but once I was out I was waiting for the Blue Train to Downtown in no time.
