Hi guys. Welcome to my next report on Flight-Report. Today, I will fly with Pacific Airlines from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City on Airbus A320. This report is actually the first report about Pacific Airlines on Flight-Report, so you shouldn't miss it out. But first, please check out my trip report about this flight on YouTube. This video is more detailed than the script version on Flight-Report and has more special things there, so I hope you guys will check out, like the video and support to my channel by subscribing Vinavia on YouTube :D
Some background infomation: Pacific Airlines is actually former Jetstar Pacific. After Qantas divestment, the airline reverts to its original name and gets a rebranding process. This is my very first flight with them after the rebranding process, so let's see how does it like to fly on the new Pacific Airlines :D
And here is the script report. Hope you guys will enjoy :D
Today's flight would start at Domestic Terminal, Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa Province.

Let's get inside the terminal.

Public hall of the terminal

Today, I would fly on flight BL383 to Ho Chi Minh City, and the estimated departure time would be 11.30 am.

Pacific Airlines check-in counters

What do you guys think about the new branding of Pacific Airlines?

Check-in was done, then I went upstairs to do the security check.

After about 5 minutes, the security check was cleared and I finally got into airside.

Time to go to the departure gate of this flight.

The number of passengers was dropped due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, that's why the terminal looked deserted.

Here was the departure gate of this flight: gate 6.

Boarding was called, then I went downstairs and got on the bus to get to the aircraft.

The bus had arrived, and let's jump on the bus right now.

This was the aircraft for today's flight. This Airbus A320 has the registration of VN-A562, and it was 9.7 years old.

Boarding

As you see, the old logo was erased and the new one was applied, but the old painting scheme remains the same.

Here was my seat on this flight: seat 16A.

Legroom was pretty cramped and tight.

About 15 minutes after boarding, the aircraft started to pushback and taxied to the runway.

Take-off

In the seat pocket, I had a sickness bag and a safety card.

10 minutes after take-off, buy-on-board service was started.

I bought a can of 7 Up, which costs me 30,000đ or about $1.3.

Quite interesting to see the imprint of the old Jetstar Pacific on the new Pacific Airlines. It's like a reminder to the good old days of BL :(

After nearly 20 minutes in the air, the aircraft started to descend and prepared for landing.

Landing

Disembarkation

My journey had ended at Domestic Terminal, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City. Thank you for reading and watching, and see you in the next report :D

Hi Vinavia, thanks for sharing this first report on the re-branded Pacific Airlines. Unsurprisingly, it's pretty much the same experience as before when it was Jetstar Pacific, except for the new branding, which I rather like. We'll see if BL differentiate themselves in the future from other LCCs in the Vietnamese market. Seems like a crowded market and BL could be successful with the backing of VN, but they will need to do more than be just another basic LCC.
Thanks for sharing!
Actually, to be honest, I prefer the Jetstar Pacific more. I feel like the new Paific Airlines seems to be too dependent on Vietnam Airlines, which is the parent company of BL. It makes them lost their own identity.
Great review of a sorta new airline. One question for you. I see that you purchased a drink, but was any sort of food available for purchase as well? Did you happen to snag a shot of the menu? I can't find anything posted anywhere about what is offered in-flight.
Thanks!
