Hi,
After some nice days of holiday in Greece it was time to head back home. After dropping of my rental car I headed to the Aegean Airlines Check In area - due to my Star Alliance Gold status I could use the Business Class check in which only took 2 minutes.

Athens Airport feels airy and modern and most shops & restaurants have reopened which makes the terminal feeling somehow lifely again. Before security check there even is a small Museum free of charge with some ancient Greek sights.

Airside in sight was an interesting Austrian A320 in retro livery bound for Vienna.

Due to my Star Alliance Gold status I had access to the Aegean Airlines Business Class lounge.

The lounge had an airy feeling however the seats etc. looked somehow worn and outdated in some areas.

Due to Covid 19 all drinks & food were completely prepackaged - still the buffet provided quite a huge and nice choice.

I had some salad and red wine first:

Later followed by some sweets and juice:

The toilets of this lounge were clean but rather small and somehow strange and cold in complete white colors.

On the way to my boarding gate I had a look at a waiting Aegean A320 and a Lufthansa A320 bound for Munich just 20 minutes before my flight.

Once I reached my gate I could see that my flight would be operated by one of Aegean's nice brandnew A320 neos in new livery.

Boarding was very chaotic without any proper announcements.
Once on board I headed to the back of the cabin to find my window seat.

The cabin had a very modern feeling and stylish seats matching Aegean's corporate identity.

Seat pitch was still fine but not very roomy.

The seats featured some clever smartphone/tablet holders as well.

Boarding was soon completed and load factor was ca. 60 %.
We pushed back on time and a manual safety demonstration followed. Unfortunately Aegean's neo planes no longer offer overhead monitors like their older planes.
A British Airways flight was just arriving as we prepared to start our journey.

On the way to our runway we also passed some widebodies from the Middle East.

Soon we started our journey of 2 hours 10 minutes heading out over some nice sea side views.

Aegean offers some nice content streaming on your personal device via 'Aegean Stream'. The application provides newspapers, information material, some music and also Airshow moving map which is always welcome.

Curtains to Business Class were closed and service started with the distribution of fresh sealed 'Blue' inflight magazines from a trolley to those passengers who were interested.

The seat pocket only had the safety card.

Some minutes later a snack bag was distributed to every passenger containing a bottle of water and packaged snacks - this is Aegean's temporary response to Covid 19. The previously served warm meals have disappeared for the time being.

About 10 minutes later trash was collected and another 10 minutes later a trolley with a full choice of non-alcoholic cold and warm drinks followed. I had some coke and tea.

The flight progressed nice and calm and soon we started approach into Munich Airport.

We landed ca. 20 minutes ahead of schedule and parked at Terminal 2.

Leaving the plane I made some quick shots of the front Business Class cabin - you can see that Business Class seats offer a separating table on the middle seat and different seat design with headrests.

Hi Alex,
thanks for sharing your experience. It's nice to see that there are airlines out there also caring for the Y passengers on relatively short flights like this. Compared to my recent flight with LH, pretty much everything appears to be better, from the USB ports at the seats to the inflight service. So I guess you made the right choice to take A3 :) Have a great day!
Thanks for a nice FR.
Too bad the crisis forced A3 to instroduce the neo with a decreased level of service.
Nice looking cabin for sure.
HI Alex, thanks for another great report on flying in the Covid-Era. Your reports are so insightful about the experience of flying in these crazy times. I LOOOOOOOVE Aegean's new livery. So much nicer than the previous, blah livery. It really pops with the bright tail logo and big titles, despite the addition of more white area. Also really like the new interiors. They look more comfortable than before and the addition of USB ports, tablet holders, and streaming IFE is also a big upgrade.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot for the nice Feedback on my reports! I also like Aegean and especially their New Design a lot. However It seems they stopped rolling out the new Corporate Identity due to Covid 19 as all their material, counters, Lounge, webpage still Feature the old Design
I've noticed that as well. I'm guessing the re-brand is just currently on hold temporarily during the crisis (bad luck/timing) and assuming it will resume once things get better financially. Whenever that will be :-/
