Introduction
This report continues from the flight in 2005 Read trip report here: Singapore Airlines SQ421 Mumbai to Singapore.
I was travelling to Mumbai for a long stay. I would be transitting through Singapore.
Check-in, Immigration and Security
I had booked flight through local travel agent for this trip. Online booking was not available in those days. For check-in I had arrived at the airport earlier. Baggage allowance was 30Kg and handbag was 7kg for the flight.
My passport and visa was checked, I was handed boarding card and immigration form.
After filling the immigration form, I headed to the immigration counter which was busy due to peak hours. After completing immigration, passed security and was in the departure area.
Boarding
Flight would be departing from gate 52. I got a magazine for reading before boarding the flight. Boarding call was made and queued up to board as I was sitting in the last section.
Passport and boarding card was checked before being allowed to proceed. Crew was waiting at the door to direct passengers. I had requested for window seat during check-in. Cold towels were distributed after cabin door was closed. Safety demonstration was conducted by crew manually.

DeParture
It was a cloudy spring day of September, landing and departure were from runway 16R for long haul flights. Flying over South Sydney before turning West.

Disappearing under the clouds. On attaining cruising altitude, crew began service.

Cabin Service
Cabin service began with juice. I selected the orange juice. Followed by meal which was chicken or fish. I had chosen the fish option.
Inflight
After meal, watched some shows and rested. Below flght path.

Most of the passengers were resting after the meal, Crew went around with water and juice- orange or apple.

Flight path it was hot outside and the windows shades on the starboard side were closed.

Flight information with 4 more hours to go.

Aircraft headed North towards the sea.

Getting closer.

Cabin Service
Cabin service commenced again as the aircraft flew closer to Indonesia. Passenger were offered rolls.

Arrival in Singapore
Soon it was time for arrival, crew carried out safety check, windows shades up, seat upright, tray tables closed. footrest up.

TransIT
After disembarkation, I had 5 hrs of transit. Spent time shopping for alcohol and gifts as it was cheaper in Singapore than Sydney.
I did not document the Singapore - Mumbai flight being a night flight on Boeing 777-300.
I hope you enjoyed the report.
Thanks for reading.
:)
Thanks for this FR.
Do you remember how the meal was compared to what SQ offers nowadays ?
I reckon the quality is maintained throughout till now, quantity is slight less than before.
I prefer flying with SQ over options due to level of service and also the transit experience is much superior to other airports in the region.
