Hi,
I used the transit at Zurich to visit the very new Swiss Alpine Lounge. It really is a great lounge - nice interior, many cosy small corners and a nice choice of drinks & foods.

Very nice is the special station where you can order a typical Swiss raclette.

On the way to the boarding gate I took a picture of a nice Swiss A220.

Soon I also spotted my splendid looking Edelweiss A320.

Boarding started perfectly on time with priority boarding first. I was greeted by a very friendly cabin crew and took my window seat in the Business Class cabin. Pilows, refreshing towels and water bottles were already waiting at the seats.

Nice holiday mood music was playing while boarding continued and once it was finished a friendly cabin attendant came around, verbally described the main dish choices and asked for my preference. I decided for the meat dish.

We started taxiing with a slight delay and soon reached our runway to start this long medium haul flight to Gran Canaria which was scheduled to ake ca. 4 hours today.

Some nice Alpine views could be enjoyed as we climbed to cruising altitude.

Once released the cabin crew closed the curtains to Economy Class and inflight service started in a very relaxed way. The crew was extremely friendly, always smiling and chatted with all guests. It was an absolutely relaxed and calm atmosphere on board.

The cabin felt modern and cozy. Seats were also comfortable for such a medium haul flight.

First table clothes were laid out - a nice and very rare touch on European medium haul flights.

Next some snacks and an aperitif were offered from the trolley.

About 20 minutes later the starter tray was handed out which was offered together with some nice warm bread choices from the basket. Again drinks were proactively offered.

Main dish was next which tasted great. It was also served with drink refills.

The flight progressed very smoothely and lunch ended with a nice dessert and more drinks. Fine chocolates from a Lindt box were also offered.

Edelweiss Air offers an entertainment streaming app for your personal device which offers a reasonable choice of music, movies etc. Also a nice feature is the tablet holder on the seat in front of you. Seat pitch in this Business Class was also very good.

The lavatory also featured some nice amenities rather known from longhaul flights instead.

We reached the first Canary Islands and slowly started descend.

As a typical Edelweiss Air farewell gift a so called Biberli (some nic etatsing sweet) was distributed from a basket.

The service finished with a hot towel (rather cheap unfortunately) before we touched down at Las Palmas on time.

Passing some Thomas Cook memory planes we docked at the terminal and disembarked via an airbridge.

Edelweiss Air put me into a perfect holiday mood :)

From what I've seen with other reports and yours is that WK is often simply outperforming their mother company LX in J class. Thanks for sharing !
Thanks FlyAlex, it was an amazing report. I would love to try Edelweiss!
