It was another short trip made to neighbouring Bangkok over a recent weekend. Unsurprisingly, with all the great food in Thailand, this report would have lots of food porn as well as the flight review of SQ Economy Class.
Self check-in performed at Terminal 2 and paper boarding pass printed.

First stop after checking in was TGM Café where, compliments of Priority Pass, I had a tasty Beef Shogayaki bento set.

Terminal 2 is definitely much quieter after the move of Scoot to Terminal 1.

Some plane spotting.

15 November 2019
Singapore Airlines
SQ 982
Singapore (SIN) - Bangkok (BKK)
B787-10
9V-SCN
Economy Class
Flight Time: 1H59M
Headed to the gate F59 at the far end of the terminal.

SQ's youngest B787-10, 2-month old 9V-SCN, would be operating the short sector this evening.

Boarding commenced and down the gangway we go. Economy earphones were available at the door but there were no newspapers on offer.

Stepped into the empty Economy cabin as we were among the first to board.

SQ's B787-10 features the latest Economy seats. No pillows offered but limited number of blankets were available in the overhead compartments. Being in a 3-3-3 configuration on the Dreamliner, the seat width and aisles were definitely tighter than the rest of the fleet. The IFE monitor was touch-screen sensitive and of good quality. Call buttons, USB port and cup holder etc were all on the seatback.

Passengers trickling in. Even the flight ended up totally full, there was no hurry to board.

View out the window.

Excellent entertainment selection on Krisworld.

Legroom was decent, though not overly generous. This regional aircraft was not fitted with footrests.

Reading material

Waiting for the last few passengers. Hot towels were also distributed. Not sure if it was me, but the SQ signature scent seemed to be missing from the hot towels.

Flight info.

Doors closed and safety video played.

New Zealand Air Force B757-200 spotted parked at the remote.

Started my IFE choice after takeoff.

Meal service commenced. There were 4 crew working in each of the forward and aft economy cabins, and hence service was actually quite efficient.

The choices for the meal were Green curry chicken with yellow rice, or Roast pork char siew with steamed rice. I chose the Green curry chicken, which was accompanied with a quinoa salad, warm roll with butter and a pudding dessert. As usual, it was companied with metal cutlery. I had an apple juice and coffee to go with my meal.

The quinoa salad was very healthy, though it could make do with a bit more seasoning.

Green curry was good, though not authentically 'thai' enough.

The pudding dessert was decent, though I still could not make out the flavour of the pudding.

Crew clearing the trays after meal service.

Visit to the lav, which was clean and stocked with the usual SQ economy amenities.

Cabin view. Note the very narrow aisles, which 'ensures' that the crew bumps into aisle passengers during service.

Continuing with the IFE.

We were already approaching Bangkok after my movie ended.

Landed and disembarked.

View of the aircraft during disembarkation. For reasons unknown, BKK airbridges are not certified to connect to Door 2 of the B787-10, hence only Door 1 is used for boarding/disembarking on all SQ B787-10 flights in BKK.

Stayed at Lancaster Hotel for this trip. Similar to my last stay, the room was modern, huge and comfortable, with a wonderful bed and amazing bathroom.

Welcome fruits and thai treats.

Next day, we had brunch at Or Tor Kor Market.

Followed by some shopping at Chatuchak.

Yummy dinner at Saengchai Pochana.

Amazing lunch at Kup Kao Kup Pla.

Famous pandan pastry at Siam Square.

Yummy desserts at White Flower Factory.

Checking out Rodfai Market

Light dinner at Zabb One.

Ending the short trip with lunch at Inter Restaurant.

Those bonus pictures make me want to go back to Thailand as soon as possible haha! Thanks for sharing this excellent report.
