Hi,
Fast lane security check was very quick and soon I foudn myself in the common-use T1 Airport Lounge for a drink and some small snack. The lounge was not to crowded and provided quite a nice and airy ambience.

On the way to my boaridng gate I had some apron views while darker clouds came up.

Due to a delayed arrival of our aircraft boarding started with a delay of ca. 20 minutes onto our nice looking Airbus 220-300. Priority boarding was conducted first in an orderly manner.

I was greeted by a rather cold male Maitre de Cabine and took my nice window seat in row 2. The seat pitch was great - one of the best I had on medium range aircrafts so far. Some nice boarding music was playing in the background.

Once boarding was completed some welcome bottled water and a packaged refreshing towel were offered from a basket. A flight time of 1 hour 40 miutes was announced.

We pushed back and a safety video was played on the small but cute overhead screeens. Waiting for take off clearance a nice Qatar Airways dreamline came in sight.

Soon we were airborne making our way through the clouds and heading out to the Irish Sea.

Ca. 10 minutes after take off the cabin crew made sure to separate Business Class from Economy Class by a big and nice curtain construction.

Very soon the still very cold Maitre de Cabine offered the cold meal tray by hand also asking for drink choices which he served from the galley some minutes later. Warm bread was offered from a basket to the total of 4 Business Class passengers spread across 3 rows. To drink I ordered some Champage and water.

The meal in general tasted nice and tasty - however no additional bread was offered and I was hoping for a warm meal on a flight that is scheduled more than 2 hours. Slightly longer flights of Swiss to Portugal or Greece already receive a full hot meal with separate aperitif service before. However obviously Dublin falls into a more short distance cold meal service process and not medium range.

Once the tray was cleared away cabin crew warmed up a little bit and my glass was proactively refilled with more Champagne.
I also ordered some tea which was nicely served with some Swiss chocolate. The general basket round of Swiss chocolates passed some minutes later where I took another one and could not resist. Interestingly I was offered milk with my tea to power from a rather huge metall can. A nice difference compared to packaged milk.

The flight continued in a very calm atmosphere and we descended into Zurich while sunset started. Some nice last sun hit the cabin before we reached a layer of clouds.

We parked at a remote position where a separate Business Class bus was waiting - a very nice feature.

Thanks for reading,

Thanks for sharing.
With LX hot meals come on flights which are scheduled longer than 2h30.
You got a nice cold tray though.
Cheers !
Thanks a lot for your clarification. I did not know about the exact barrier of 2h30 but that makes sense!
Do you maybe also know the Swiss Service level definition for their Economy Class on Medium range flights? Is there a definition which routes get the cold meal in the white reusable plastic boxes compared to the hot quiches in paper boxes? Both kinds seam to be served on their longer flights but I could not understand their pattern so far.
Thanks for this FR.
LX has finally realized they need to separate Business from Economy if they really want to differentiate the products.
The meals looks good, but just like you I would expect more on a 2 hour flight.
Nice report. Also great to see Avro RJs still flying around, but the A220 seems nice as well.
Yes I also always am a huge fan of the old Avros because they are such a special aircraft. However the new A220 definitely is a great plane - so quiet and roomy and with those cute small overhead monitors
