Hi,
Welcome to this short doemstic Australian hop from Melbourne to Sydney.
I had done online Check In and selected a window seat of my choice for a small surcharge. Otherwise Jetstar would randomly assign you any seat.
Jetstar uses the low cost Terminal 4 at Melbourne which is rather dull and not so nice to pass through - but it does the job. Security was very quick that afternoon and I had some time left to do some spotting of low cost aircraft on this very rainy afternoon.

You have to pass this very long and sad corridor to reach the apron boarding gates of Jetstar.

Once I arrived at the gate boarding would just start and my hand baggage weight was checked as of every other passenger too. Soon I walked onto the rainy apron to board this Airbus 321 via the rear stairs.

The cabin looked nice and modern and the pitch was fine for such a short domestic flight.

The crew seemed to be friendly and chatty and soon we taxiied to our departure runway while a manual safety demonstration was performed. But unfortunately then we had to wait at the runway for ca. 45 more minutes as a queue had formed there due to the bad weather situation. Finally we took off and started our trip which was scheduled to take 1 hour 10 minutes.

Jetstar offers a buy on board service and I had a look at their menu.

In the end I decided to buy an afternoon snack deal for 7 AUD which included a cup of tea and some banana bread. The friendly crew also asked me if I wish that the banana bread would be heated which would take ca. 5 minutes. I declined that offer due to the short flight time. The snack was tasty nonetheless and a big portion.

Sunset continued and in the end we landed at Sydney with a delay of ca. 35 minutes. We docked at a boarding bridge but the rear stairs in addition were used to speed up things - a nice idea.
