Hello everyone, welcome to the third part of the December trip to Asia. This report will cover the flight with Cathay Pacific Airways from Hong Kong to Taipei.

After spending two days in Hong Kong, I continued my journey to Taipei. I arrived at the airport much earlier than expected, it was about three and a half hours prior to the departure time. I headed directly to the Cathay Pacific Airways's counter to check my luggage and went airside.
When I arrived at my gate, it was obviously too early and was still handling the previous flight to Washington DC with Cathay Pacific Airways's A350. B-LRL was ready for the flight to Washington DC. I then spent the rest of time sitting close to the gate.
At 18:03pm, my plane finally arrived at gate. B-KQJ, B777-300ER delivered to Cathay Pacific Airways in October 2013. It was still wearing the old Cathay color scheme.
At 18:55pm, boarding was called. This year I was downgraded to Green member, I could only queue at the premium economy/Green member line. But at least I could board before the general economy class passengers. My seat 39K, in the first row of the economy class. The seat was still the old one that introduced in 2012 and this aircraft type provided four classes F6/J53/W34/Y182. Most of the seats in economy class is 3-3-3 configured except row 39, 71 and 72 which are the best seats for couples. This seat configuration was the same with the one I took few days ago from London Heathrow.

As always, the PTV was mounted on the partition wall.
Welcome screen. The entertainment system was still the old version, which was different from the the previous flight.
The remote control for the PTV was stored under the armrest. At 19:20pm, boarding was completed and door s were closed. Pushback was then commenced after five minutes.
Cabin light was turned off and we takeoff from RWY07R at 19:45pm. Not long after takeoff, we headed towards southeast, passing through Victoria harbor and continued our way into South China Sea.
Then I started to watch Mr. Bean which I thought was quite suitable for this short flight.
At 20:03 a hot meal was served. Basically it composed of a bottle of water and tomato pork chop with rice. I remembered two years ago when i took the same route, Cathay only served a paper bag with a chicken lattice pastry, a cookie and a lemon tea. To me, this was really an improvement for catering.
At about 20:34pm, the announcement from the cockpit that we had commenced our descend into Taipei and we expected to arrived at 20:55pm. I took the last chance visited the lavatory afterwards.
After I came back from the lavatory, seatbelt sign was turned on again and then cabin light was turned off to prepare for the landing.
At 21:00pm, we landed on Taipei Taoyuen Airport. Total flight time was 1 hour and 45 minutes. It seemed that the map on the screen was providing the wrong information, as in reality we landed on the north runway instead of the south.
After a short taxi, we parked at gate B4.
