Review of Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore to Tokyo in Economy

This is a short flight report of my flight from Singapore Changi (SIN) on 27 Nov 2018 at 23.55 bound for Tokyo Narita (NRT).
The aircraft for this flight was a Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, one of the trademark aircraft that Singapore Airlines is currently using for its high-frequency Japan destinations (Tokyo Narita being one of them). Reg no of aircraft was 9V-SCF. There are 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats in the 787-10, which represents an improved passenger capacity compared to the other 787 variants.

Seat
Seats are arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration in Economy Class, with a grey and blue colouration that exudes a sense of class and modernity. The seat has a width of 19 inches and a pitch of 32 inches.

Each seat also comes with its in-seat USB charging port and power sockets are located at the bottom of the seat (2 sockets for every 3 seats).

Legroom on this seat was fairly generous as shown below.

Entertainment
Each seat also comes with its own 11.6 inch high definition entertainment screen featuring a wide range of movies, entire seasons of TV shows and documentaries. You will not be bored! The airshow is also very interactive, but there are no external flight cameras on the aircraft.

Food
Upon takeoff, we were handed out menus for the flight ahead! This being a red-eye flight, we would be served a light refreshment with drinks, and then a full breakfast before arrival.

The refreshment was packed into a nice box and contained either a foccacia bread with chicken or a vegetarian sandwich with roasted capsicum. I chose the former to go with red wine and I was not disappointed. The sandwich was slightly warm and packed robust flavour. The wine also accompanied the sandwich really well!

Breakfast was served 2 hours prior to arrival. It consisted of a Japanese option (grilled saba mackerel in teriyaki sauce) or a Western option (scrambled eggs). I naturally opted for the Japanese option, which came with ginger flavoured rice, tamagoyaki and vegetables. The breakfast option also came with a hot roll, butter and apricot preserve, as well as a fruit appetiser. It was a very satisfying breakfast that prepared us well for an early morning arrival at Tokyo Narita.

Service
Service was impeccable on this flight, starting from the warm greetings upon boarding the flight to the numerous rounds of drinks, snacks and fruit service on this 6 hour flight. It made my journey much more pleasant! Definitely lives up to its name of being a Great Way to Fly!
