Hi,
After some great holidays on the Canary Islands it was time to head back home.
Check In was quick and friendly at a dedicated Sky Priority counter.

Security was also a breeze this morning and soon I had a quick breakfast at the 'Sala Galdos' VIP lounge that Air Europa uses here at Las Palmas.
The lounge interior is very old fashioned and food selection limited. However there is a great outdoor terrace with excellent apron views.

On the way to my boarding gate I had a nice view of this Edelweissair Airbus waiting to bring back holidaymakers to Zurich.

Boarding started on time and via two jetbridges.
The Business Class cabin of this Airbus 330 definitely was quite old fashioned and showed many signs of age.
Nonetheless it was of course super comfortable for this medium haul flight of 2 hours 20 minutes up to Madrid.

The Business Class cabin ended up fully occupied. Once boarding was completed, newspapers and pre departure water or juice were offered.

We departed with a delay of ca. 30 minutes due to traffic restrictions over Spain due to thunder storms.

The inseat entertainment programm was not activated on this short flight - it only showed some short cartoons & airshow map.

However this plane also featured entertainment streaming on your personal device with a good selection of movies etc.

This was the only Air Europa flight where no refreshing towels were offered.
About 50 minutes after departure a warm breakfast & drinks were offered from the trolley service.
This was accompanied by a selection of warm different bread from a basket.

The rest of the flight was very relaxing - sitting in comfortable longhaul Business Class seats and enjoying some entertainment streaming :)

We landed in Madrid with a delay of ca. 30 minutes and parked on a remote position for disembarkation via stairs & buses.

Hi FlyAlex, thanks for sharing this nice series of reports. Quite a contrast between the products with the A330 on this leg and the 787 on the previous leg. It's certainly nice to get a widebody on medium-haul with a "real" business class cabin, but UX really need to update the cabins on these A330s to the 787 standard. Getting an A330 old J cabin on a MAD to South America flight would not be as pleasant.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes you are totally correct: on Medium haul Flights within Europe those seats are very comfortable. But for longhaul I would only book Air Europa of the flight is operated by a 787
