Review of Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore to Colombo in Business

So we arrived at T3 and we have six more hours until our next flight departs from T2. We decided that we should clear immigration and go visit the Merlion Park but before that we headed to the Butterfly garden since we are already in Terminal 3.

After that we moved to the Terminal 2 to clear immigration.

Immigration was a breeze as its the norm at Changi. The lady officer inquired about my travel plans as I had written "Transit" as my address in Singapore and she reminded me to come back early, not to miss the flight :)
Next we had to take the MRT, The airport station is located two levels below the arrival hall.

After transferring to the main Green Line at Tanah Merah, our MRT journey to Raffles Park took 15-20 mins.

We were back at the airport after 2 hours.

We have given the farthest gate of Concourse F.

It was time to hit the lounge to get refreshed and relax.

The lounge was not crowded at this hour.

First I went to the shower room as I was sweating after walking around in hot and humid conditions.

Standard buffet with choices of Indian, Chinese and Western food was on offer.

45 mins prior to the departure, FIDS showed that Gate is open for our flight. We left the lounge as we had to walk to the end of the concourse.

It took about 10 mins for us to reach the gate and boarding began right on time just as we cleared security.

Boarding passes scanned and then we walked straight to the aircraft.

Business class cabin was about 80% full today.

Oshibori and welcome drinks were offer. I went for champagne while Mrs. settled for OJ.
The flight attendant Prearisa also confirmed our Book the Cook orders.

One jet bridge was removed early and some late passengers were boarded through J class.
Nonetheless, push back was right on time. There was a sense of urgency to send off this late night flight as quickly as possible.

We lined up behind BA16 to LHR for take off.

Tonight's Entertainment is Ah Boys to Men 4, the last part of a Singaporean comedy film series about their National Service experiences.

Meanwhile the dinner service started with each course served separately.
Scallops were served as the starter. As a shellfish lover I had nothing to complain.

We both had Classic Lobster Thermidor from the BtC menu and it tasted great.

By this time we were full and asked the crew to only bring one plate of dessert to share between us.

Prearisa came around cabin around few times to check whether everyone is comfortable and also delivered the A350 model I ordered online from Krisshop. As she asked whether I need anything else, I settled for another Singapore Sling.
We were above the Indian Ocean and had about 2 hours to land so I decided to visit the galley and have a chat with the crew.
The crew was really enthusiastic. Flight attendant Prearisa is from Northern Thailand, it was first time I met a Thai cabin crew in SQ. Senior steward Chng Kieng and In-flight supervisor Kwong were also serving the business class. This is one of the longest flights for them to serve both onward and return sectors. Being a red eye flight actually ease the workload as most passengers tend to have a nap after the meal service or even skip it altogether to have a good sleep. According to them the toughest one is the return flight to Hong Kong during day hours which they jokingly referred to as a "black eye" flight. They in fact thanked me for coming to have chat and keep them awake during these late hours of the day.

After chatting with the crew I returned to my seat for the descent. No more photos were taken as I was really tired after a long day. We landed 15 mins ahead of the schedule and after thanking the crew, quickly exited the aircraft to avoid long queues at the immigration. There was a moderate line at the counters but we manage to clear it in 5-10 minutes. After taking the baggage which were already at the belt when we reached there we took an airport cab to go home.
