Background
I visited Brazil once and since then I always wanted to come back. So when the LATAM Business class error fare from Barcelona to Salvador appeared I did not wait and booked roundtrip J ticket from Barcelona to Sao Paulo (GRU) and economy class cabin (Y) to Salvador (SSA) as LATAM does not offer J cabin on this route.
Check-in
I have already reserved my seats right after purchasing the ticket so I was in no hurry to check-in. If you travel on LATAM international check your seats with a great time ahead as the seat map was always out of work and also during the online check-in, it did not work.
The day before departure I also received an email that the flight is going to depart on the new time. Instead, 9:55 AM we were delayed by more than two hours to 12:20 PM. It made no problem for me as I had connection time in Guarulhos of 4 hours but many others might be affected. Also, I was rescheduled to lates Salvador flight. I understand that this was operational change and it happens only sometimes so no complaints about this.
At the airport, this flight was handled by Iberia staff and it was a little chaotic. The economy class queue was moving much quicker. They gave me a breakfast voucher to one of the cafés (probably as a compensation for the delay) in the hall, fast-track security voucher and a lounge invitation.
Security was also chaotic, it seems that everything in Barcelona works just on the half.
Lounge - Sala VIP Miro
Sala VIP Miro has only a few reviews so I will describe it better now. When talking about seating area you should expect a peak time in the morning as more big planes to America leave. Finding a place was really hard.
The buffet area is limited but it was enough for a small breakfast. Do not expect a hot food, there were some cheeses, ham, salami to choose from, Nespresso coffee, some cereals and selection of bread and pastries along with fresh fruit. As I said – enough for small breakfast but nothing to talk about.
I also decided to have a shower. That is the story itself. I came to the reception and asked them for a shower room 40 minuted for my boarding time which was scheduled to 11:20 AM. They told me I am the no. 2 on the waitlist. Since then a few people went to shower rooms (which are only two) and I was still waiting. I got there an hour later when my flight was already boarded on the Last call. That was really stressful and I really did not like the system which they used.
All in all, it is a basic lounge which I do not want to come back.


LATAM Business Class flight BCN – GRU
I was one of the last one to board the aircraft so after settling in I was offered only welcome drink, no nuts. I chose champagne and it was quite good.


There were already waiting a small pillow, perfekt thick sheet (not just blanket, it was so smooth…), a bottle of water and the amenity kit on my seat. The amenity kit was basic but enough for a day flight.
The menu consisted of Breakfast and Lunch selection but when the crew came to take their orders they told us they are serving a lunch and diner. Disapointing, isn’t it? The crew were really nice and did their job properly but it was clear they need a little more training in communication.

After take off the service started with no drink service, it was all served at once. As I chose the grand salad with king prawns my plate does not have a side salad.


For the desert, you can choose fresh fruit, a raspberry cake or an ice cream.

As all window shades were down it was time to rest. LATAM seat is perfectly comfortable on their A350 and they are going to reconfigure many of their cabins next year with a perfect product so in this point they are the winners.
As this was my first time flying A350 I would also like to talk about this aircraft. I always loved Dreamliners but after todays flight I think I will have to change my mind. So smooth, peacefull and quiet flight I have never experienced. The new system of cabin preasure is also perfect and I felt very relaxed during the flight. So, for now, A350 is my most loved aircraft in the skies!
During the flight you can ask for sandwiches, their fresh orange juice is phenomenal!

Pre-arrival meal. Tasty again, I asked for apple juice-sparkling water mixture. Panna cotta was too sweet for me…so I changed to fresh fruit.

Landing in Sao Paulo

Thanks for sharing; its nice to see a report on the LATAM A359! I live the look of the cabin. The catering looks good, but I'm surprised they served everything just on one tray for a day flight--no appetiser....just a salad? Overall it seems it was a good flight, especially since it was on a mistake fare. Thanks for sharing!
