Hi,
I arrived at the airport quite late - so nobody waiting at the Check In counter in front of me.
After passing security I skipped visiting the available Avianca lounge and directly proceeded to gate H08 where priority boarding started five minutes later.

An elderly but very friendly crew welcomed me on board and I took my very nice and comfortable window seat 4H.
The seat was great and most important provided direct aisle access without any neighbour.

The friendly cabin crew offered champagne and distributed menus for this flight.

The mood on board was perfect and the captain announced this as a special flight:
This would be his last flight before retiring and he specially selected his favourite crew members.
The crew had special farewell buttons on theire uniform and also a special cake was on display at the SAS Business buffet.
So overall a very nice and personal experience.
We pushed back 5 minutes ahead of schedule and then things changed!!
After 20 minutes without moving the captain announced technical problems which required us to return to the gate.
The mood in the cabin changed and after 1 hour waiting at the gate the power generator problem was fixed and we finally taxied out for departure.

We took off in easterly direction and climbed to cruising altitude for a flight of 9hrs15mins to come.

The cabin crew started the very friendly inflight service and soon mood of all passengers got better again.
Hot towels were served before aperitif service started.

I had some Gin & Tonic to go with my warm nuts.

Table was set for dinner.

I started with poached scallops and some nice salad freshly prepared in front of me.

I then had some nice almond-crusted halibut as main that was topped by some fresh pepper from a mill.

Dinner ended with the dessert cart being rolled out - some cheese & chocolate cake for me.

I finished my movie and then turned down my seat into a completely flat bed.
The bed was comfortable and provided enough movement space to find a good sleeping position.

After sleeping for ca. 4 hours breakfast servic started 1our45mins before touchdown with hot towels.
Cabin crew only woke those passengers who had requested to be woken for breakfast when asked by the cabin crew before departure - a very nice service.
The breakfast offered many nice cold options and warm bread.

Afterwards also a very tasty spinach frittata was served.

We started descend and touched down at sunny but cold Copenhagen Airport with a delay of 1hrs15mins in the end.

Great report and photos! It looks like you had a good flight with SAS in J. My wife and I flew with them in that cabin back in Sep 2011 from IAD-CPH and had a really nice flight with them. The service and food were all very good.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for this FR.
Wow, great meals again. If SK is really average in Y class, in business, they're as good as OS or some Asian airlines it seems.
Yes Y may not be the best with SK. But their Business and Premium Economy product is a very good one on the market
