Over the years, I normally do not take a lot of pictures of a flight. Only very recently that I had taken interest in Flight-Report that I had started taking pictures. This particular report is not that fully detailed like my all other reports, so apologies if you find this non-satisfying but I am just with pure intentions of sharing as many flights as possible to kind of share the knowledge and what to expect should any one of you will take the same route in the future. I am sure too that there a few flight reporters who had in the past reported on the same route and flight. :)
I have worked and lived here in The Maldives for over a decade now and Sri Lanka, Colombo in particular is "weekend getaway" for us who are based here. It is only an hour flight away and in Colombo, that is where we shop, party and what not.
Normally, January is my favorite month to go on holiday. :) So this report is one of those "January" flights that I took.
I will not review Bandaranaike International Airport as there is not much to discuss about this airport.
Pardon for all the iPhone photos…
I stayed at this hotel, it is called The Kingsbury, about US$80 a night with full buffet breakfast. Very centrally located. Great bed, nice ambiance and great staff.

The area just beside the hotel, there is a bar and restaurant row called Dutch Hospital, it was basically a hospital during the Dutch occupation turned into a dining destination now.

Sri Lanka is a country of a few religions. Catholicism is one of them. As a Catholic, I felt obliged to at least visit a church while in Colombo. This one is I think St. Michael's Church.

So now it is time to fly. Here is a photo of the IFE.

This was the cover of the menu (this was in January 2015).

This was the in flight meal. Quite ok but the flight was a red-eye so did not have much appetite on that time. But overall, the quality is good.

View of the cabin while almost everyone was asleep.

Nearing Singapore this time. Beautiful sunrise it was.

Just before clearing immigration, I was admiring this pretty piece of display at Changi Airport.

Took the MRT to the City. Took about 30 minutes.

Alighted at the Bugis area where my hotel was located. It was pretty warm in Singapore in January.

A few more views of Singapore.

Thank You and I promise to be as detailed as possible in the future reports….
Hi! What languages were the announcements made in? English and Tamil, English and Sinhala? or all 3 or what? Thanks !
