My time in Hong Kong has come to an end and I was a bit sad to leave this exciting city.
After the two flights that brought me here

it was time to continue my journey to Malaysia.
At the time of booking, Air Asia was the best option in terms of price and time so I chose them. I had previously only flown with them from SIN to KUL.
At HKG, LCCs are located in terminal 2 where a bus dropped me off that I had taken from Tsim Sha Tsui.
Most people got off the bus at terminal 1 which hosts all airlines except the LCCs.
Although the LCC terminal, terminal 2 is not bad at all.
They also offer this nice baggage scale and the little girl demonstrates how to use it :)

I checked in at the counter as I wanted to get a nice boarding pass and not the kinda uggly check-in machine print out. Also, as I had to drop off my bag anyway it would not have made any difference. I had previously reserved a window seat as I didn't want to be stuck in a middle seat without a view.
Checking the FIDS for my flight. Looks good so far. The Air Asia flights are using the 200s gates so I could already start my journey.
First I needed to take a train to the main gate area which I highly appreciated as it offered amazing spotting possibilities.
Gate 209. Finally I know where exactly I'm going to although I spent quite a lot of time just walking around and enjoying the view in the main gate area.
I love this open spacious layout with nice places to rest and even free water :)
So far I liked SIN best but HKG is my new number 1

Quite a long journey to these 200s gates but I was pretty impressed how nice even the LCC area was.
I had a little bit of time to kill until boarding would start and my aircraft had not yet arrived so I was hoping to catch it while taxing and I was lucky. To my surprise, there was also a Jet Airways flight to DEL leaving in this area of the airport but as I've mentioned it is pretty nice.
There was a small outdoor terrace at the end of the building although it is rather small and mostly used as a smoking lounge. Then I suddenly spotted a little red and white airbus that taxied towards gate 209 and it was indeed my ride to KUL.
It didn't took too long until boarding began and I was ready to visit Malaysia for the second time.
Let the journey begin
In terms of space, AK is not really an airline I can recommend. It's very tight and not too comfortable.
We soon began to to taxi and I had some more spotting opportunity with very nice views. Especially an OZ 744 that taxied parallel to us for quite some time was my highlight. I'm very glad I had the opportunity to see this giant beauty live.
Soon, it was our turn to depart.
I had ordered a hot meal online and was very curious how their quality would be. It wasn't bad but considering the good quality I had received from Xiamen Air I was a bit disappointed. It was also not too filling and so I decided to buy a Vietnamese sandwich as it was called which was much better in terms of taste than the Briyani.
The flight as such was not too spectacular. Mostly we flew over water and it was cloudy so even the sight out of the window got a little bit boring. The very friendly crew was Filipino and Malaysian from what I could spot on their name tags which have little flags on them.
As my knees and legs started to hurt quite a bit I wasn't too sad that the flight was coming to an end soon.
Before landing you can see lots of palm oil fields.
It's so impressive how well connected KUL is through AK.
After collecting my bag and clearing customs and immigration I made my way to KLIA Ekspres, which is the most convenient way to travel to the city center.
