Hi Guys, i would like to share with you my flight experience on a quick holiday trip to Bali and in Manila.
I still have some Annual Leave from last year to burn before it expires so i planned a quick holiday to Bali before going back home to Philippines.
Here are my flight details on this quick trip:
JQ 117 SIN-DPS
5J 280 DPS-MNL
PR 511 MNL-SIN
I booked the first flight to Denpasar via Jetstar Airways for S$80 and top up another S$40 for a Bundle plus which includes a rebook-able flights (fare difference may apply), standard seat selection, snack/meal and a 20Kg of check-in luggage. i considered the fare quite reasonable compared to other airlines, but you can still purchase fares via JQ/3K much cheaper that this, i once purchased S$120 all-in roundtrip tickets to Denpasar from Singapore.
Since it is an early morning flight i arrived at the airport 3 hours before the flight and arriving Terminal 1 almost empty and quite…

Then i proceed to the check-in area, and again it was empty. I tried doing a self check-in using the Kiosk, i scanned my passport, confirmed the details and select the flight, however since JQ117 is bound for Perth via Denpasar, my flight details shows Perth, so i decided to go to the manned check in assistance counter.

Note that i already used this option on my previous travels, after confirming the details it will print your boarding pass on a Thermal paper and print the luggage tag if you have an bag to check in. then you need to drop it on the baggaged drop-off

The agent checked my flight booking, and asked for my onward flight booking, a little chat then done, she handed me my boarding pass and checked my luggage. Samsung Note 7 is still banned on all JQ/3K flights.

I immediately went to Immigration counter in no time im on airside, and again Changi is almost empty and stores are closed but Duty free is still open.

Changi still features thier CNY decor, but some area are now undergoing some changes on display and removing the CNY decor.

since there is nothing much to do, i just stayed at the front of our gate and waited for the gates to be open for boarding, luckily there is an empty foot massager nearby.

Gates was open 40 mins prior to departure… and boarding was announced and boarded the plane by rows. and i would say its 90% full.

Jetstars typical black leather seats…

My seat for more that 2 hours journey to paradise…

Considering that it is an LCC airline, leg room is way better than Airasia's Standard legroom. my knees did not touch the seats in front of me and recline is decent.

Reading material was place on its rack on the upper backseat in front of me, making more space on the knee area, however, if you want something to keep and easily accessible, this compartment is seems that there is no more space for more than the inflight literatures.

Inflight literature, consists of 2 Magazines, BOB menu, air sickness bag and Onboard safety instruction…

On board safety instruction… isn't cute with its cartoony illustrations?!?

Front Cabin view…

we left the gate 20 minutes later than our time of departure. we had a long taxi aligning to runway 20C, and we off for Denpasar.
After the seatbelt sign were turned off, the BOB/service began, since i opt for a Bundle Plus, snack were included on my fare, though upon booking i already preorder a meal but they just offered me a bread roll, KITKAT bar and water… I wasn't able to finish the bread, it was a Curry bread, the taste is too strong for my liking, i ate the chocolate bar immediately to cleanse my palette.

Before the service ends, they offered me a cup of coffee…

as i drunk coffee, i was not able to take a nap, so i kept my self busy listening to music and taking photos…
wing and engine view..

somewhere over Indonesia…

prior to landing…

some planespotting…

Garuda just landed ahead of us from China.

Lion Air parked at the gate

A very unique design of Ngurah rai Airport, its very traditional balinese design.

walking trough a big, wide and almost empty immigration hall, there were at least 5 immigration officer manning the counter which is enough for all our passenger, i just waited for less than 5 minutes for me to clear and chopped my passport…

after clearing the immigration, i went to our luggage belt and none of our bags is ready for pick up. Bags are started to be seen after 5 minutes, and luckily my bag was the first to be delivered.

then Custom check point procedures were done, all bags were scanned for any items that needs to declared.
In 15 minutes or so, from disembarkation im already at the arrival pick-up point. before you can go out the terminal you will passed by a small duty free stores, Forex and some travel booking offices.

That's the main problem with most of the LCC flights: horrendous schedules
At least, you had plenty of time to enjoy your day in Bali
Thank you for sharing
Thanks, thou the schedule is in favor for us, as you say that we had the whole day to explore Bali, and my friends flight via 5J lands almost the same time with JQ in DPS. (but his flight was delayed for an hour)
