Hello and welcome to my first flight report!
In October I travelled to London for 5 days. It was the fourth time I visited this great city - and it was definitely not the last one.
The trip to the airport was done by rail - which was really smooth with the ICE train after some rather bad experiences I made in the last weeks…but that's another story.

I took the bus to get to Terminal 2 which took about 10 minutes.
The bag drop area of BA

The way through security was surprisingly fast, so I had plenty of time for a coffee…the Oktoberfest also arrived at Frankfurt Airport as you can see ;)

At the Gate I noticed a BA tail in some distance…that must be our 767 for this flight, which is also my first flight on this type.

Boarding started after about 20 Minutes…

A Delta B767 is being prepared for the trip over the Ocean

G-BZHB will take us to London today, she looks pretty neat outside…

…and the cabin also looks pretty good which has been updated with new seats and some other things just few years ago…looks like there will be quite some empty seats - an A320 would be sufficient today.

…seems to be a good day for flying…

Seat pitch is perfect for this short flight

Taxiing to the runway took quite some time - it went to the other end of the apron.

Takeoff from runway 18:

I could choose between cookies and crisps and decided for the latter one and a coffee…both was quite tasty.

Unfortunately the window was a bit scuffed and dirty…

Hello England…

Coming from the west for landing at Heathrow

We had to wait 10 minutes until another aircraft which ran late had left our gate…

The arrival at T5 was also very smooth and it didn't take much time until I arrived at the tube. In my opinion the underground is the easiest way to get directly into the city centre.
I'd like to close my first flight report with a view of and from the ArcelorMittal Orbit located in Stratford:

Hi marvin . Welcome to Flight-report !
Hallo, Marvin. Herzlich willkommen in Flight-report.com!
Wenige Leute im Flugzeug. Waren sie alle im Oktoberfest? XD
Vielen Dank.
My english isn't perfect at all ;)
I really would have expected more passengers on this flight, at least the flight back to Frankfurt (with an A320) was nearly booked up.
The good thing about those empty seats - we received another packet of crisps ;)
The Delta aircraft you spotted is I believe a B767, not an A330.
Indeed it is a 767, I'll change that. Thank You :)
Hi there and thanks for sharing you first report! I like that BA flies 767s on intra-European flights. I believe they are the last European carrier with regularly scheduled widebody flights within Europe. Despite their age the short-haul 767 cabin looks rather fresh with the newer seats, except for those old-style bins. I guess it wasn't worth updating them if they will be retired in a few years. One of the bad things about FRA T2 is the high probability of having to board from a remote stand--but then again, for an Aviation enthusiast, that's usually a good thing, since you have good views from the tarmac.
Thanks for sharing and Welcome to Flight-Report!
Thank You for your comment, KevinDC :)
Short-haul flights with widebodys in Europe is really something special since LH retired their A300.
Up to now, on most flights out of FRA I boarded from those remote stands - in enjoy it :)
Thanks for sharing Marvin and welcome to the site!
"…and the cabin also looks pretty good which has been updated with new seats"
- If I remember correctly, the rear cabin has newer seats and the forward cabin has older seats. Not sure why they did this, but the J cabin on these definitely has the vintage seats.
Catering on BA looks to have taken a dive recently, I would have expected a sandwich or a salad on a flight of this length as opposed to a simple bag of snacks.
Love the fuselage shot boarding from the rear doors!
