Hello everyone
One week after attending the Farnborough Airshow I left for London to spend two weeks of vacation
The aim was also to improve my English and visit places I haven't visited in my previous journeys in this magnificent city
About 10 days before the departure I booked the flight with Ryanair, the college, the residence and the Terravision bus to and from Stansted
It was the 2nd time for me flying to this airport and the 4th time with Ryanair
That's the itinerary:
24th July Rome CIA - London STN (you are here)
7th August London STN - Rome CIA (here)
I APOLOGIZE FOR THE QUALITY OF PHOTOS TAKEN FROM THE PLANE BUT THE WINDOW WAS VERY DIRTY
I checked in the morning with Ryanair App
During the reservation I selected seat 12F not imagining the surprise waiting for me, but I will talk about it later
My parents brought me to Rome CIampino "G. B. Pastine" Airport about 1 hour and half prior to departure
Fortunately CIA is a small airport and it doesn't need long waitings

Quite calm check-in hall

Departure board with my flight shown to be on-time

I made my way to the security checkpoint
This area has been enlarged and improved as other parts of the airport
AeroportidiRoma, the society which owns FCO and CIA is working hard to bring these airports at the same level of big European hubs
The security checkpoint was rapid and in a couple of minutes I was airside
The departure lounge was quite crowded to the large amount of flights departing in the morning

My flight would depart from boardin area B, which hosts flights to non-Schenghen countries
Having the ePassport I was able to use the eGate and in half-a-minute I was from the other side

My gate

Boarding was called on-time
Thanks to the priority boarding I was checked among the first and I was able to carry my baggage on
Our bird for today's flight

After giving the purser the flight report form I made my way to my seat
And that's the surprise I was talking before….
SEAT 12F IS MISSING WINDOW :/
The worst thing for an avgeek like me

The view from the half window I had :/

We started pushback and taxi to the RWY on time
The good thing of CIA is the short distance from the Terminal to the unique RWY

As no other planes were waiting, 5 minutes after leaving the terminal we started the T/O

Finally in the air…

Rome from the air

On the left is visible EUR neighborhood, built during Fascism to celebrate the Expo in 1942, never held for the IIWW
Its buildings are the best example of Italian Racionalism

Runway 16L/34R of Rome FCO Airport

Italian Tirrean Coast

Elba Island

Alps

French mainland

The Channel and the White Cliffs of Dover

And one week after I'm again in Anglia

We started our descent on time

Welcome to London….again ahahah

No need to say who's the boss

FedEx 777

easyJet and ThomasCook A330s

Other FR planes heading to the gate

During desembark I asked for the flight report and the Captain invited me to the cockpit
I talked a little bit with Captaina dn F/O before leaving and thanking for the report
I always appreciate when the cabin crew is so nice with avgeeks

Welcome sign inside the terminal…finally in London to have fun!!!

I totally agree with the first two but aboiut the third I still have some doubts ahaha
But I'm Italian so for me our food will be always the best

To get to the Terminal we had to take an underground APM

Some FR planes from the APM

After passing the border and claiming the baggages I went to take the Terravision bus to Central London
The Terminal was quite busy
