Hi everyone,
I'd like to share with you my impressions from the flight WAW-CDG onboard Air France A320. It was a business trip for the SIAL food exhibition so I didn't have much time to enjoy Paris yet I found a minute for an evening walk - photos to come with the report covering the flight back.
I was happy my company has booked us an AF ticket instead of LOT as it's been a long time that I haven't flown AF and I was curious about their new cabin. To be honest their service in economy is much better than in LOT and I always prefer to fly an A320 than an E-jet. My last flight with LOT wasn't the best either so I was really looking forward to this οne.
The queue to the bag drop point was long as the flight was supposed to be full. There were 3 desks open, one for the business class and two for the economy.

To my surprise the safety control once again was very smooth and the staff was quite polite - it seems the bad times when WAW was the ruddest airport in the world regarding security are gone for good and let's hope they will never come back.
I didn't have many opportunities for spotting as I was with my colleagues and couldn't really focus on the flight itself as the exhibition and our meetings were the number 1 subject.
My gate

And my aircraft

The crew seems very friendly from the very beginning even though the purser had an artificial smile sticked to her face it was better she was smiling this way than showing how tired or angry she was. I've always had good experiences with AF crews so far and this one seemed to confirm my opinion that they are usually more polite and not so terribly serious as the LOT ones.
View from seat 20 A occupied by my colleague, mine was 20B that was rare for me as I usually choose window seats but I let my colleague who is not a frequent flyer to take it.

I was happy to see the retrofitted cabin. The leather seats are very comfortable and the whole cabin looks very elegant in total.

Another improvement is the new safety card, still a small paper folder but completely different design

Taxi and take off thanks to my colleague bending for me to take photos :)

The service didn't start immediately after the seat belt sign was off as most airlines do, it started 30 minutes later and was rather slow but I really can't complain. Even though the only thing we were offered to eat was a piece of blondie cake, the drinks offer was generous and the red wine was very good.

The flight was very smooth in general, no turbulence at all.

Can anyone recognize this city?

Another seat/window view when the window seat was empty for a while

We started descending already 1 hour and 20 minutes after departure and landed 25 minutes later which made the whole flight duration only 1:45.
Landing

As usually at CDG the taxi took ages and the only thing I was waiting for was the Concorde!

Flights from/to Warsaw always arrive and depart from the terminal 2F where we finally found our stand

As always during my AF flight the cockpit crew was out with the cabin crew to say good bye to the passengers.
Our bags came quickly and here I was, ready for a 3-day hard working stay in Paris with hopefully a few moments to see the city I haven't been to for the last 5 years.

Hello, Loukas!
What do you mean? It sounds frightening! Did the staff yell at you or something like that?? :O
You're right. You can't complain. You should see what I was served in my last LATAM flight. :(
Thanks for sharing! :)
You mean the "muffin"? ;) Regarding security control in WAW, believe me it was a distaster. Staff used to shout, offend passengers, ignore them, keep with no shoes for 10 minutes on ice cold floor, spoke no English. I don't know how it was possible that this sick situation existed with hundreds of complaints coming to the airport almost every day but I'm happy that it is no longer present.
Thank you Loukas for sharing this short FR.
Indeed it seems that AF has marginally better catering than LO. As you stated, the upholstery of the new cabin looks very elegant and the redesigned safety card is a welcomed surprise.
It's always reassuring to have a pleasant crew.
Many thanks!
Thanks for sharing Loukas!
I typically find E-Jets to be more comfortable than their larger narrow-body cousins, but to each their own^^ The new AF cabins do look nice aesthetically.
Tea, wine, and coke? Quite an eclectic mix of drinks! The little packaged cake on the other hand, not so well done by AF on a 2-hour flight.
Any idea what the inspiration for the "no sleeping under the seat" diagram on the safety card was?
See you for the return!
It must have been quite common for passengers to sleep on the floor if they decided to put it into the safey card ;) It was my collegaues coke - she put it on my table having noticed me taking a photo. Anyway wine and tea goes well one after another, not mixed of course ;) (AF tea is disgusting by the way). Thanks for reading!
