Check In
After a few fun filled days in Miri, including a day trip to Niah National Park, it was time to say goodbye.
Online check in for Malindo was available 48 hours before scheduled departure. The process was simple and straightforward. We selected our preferred seats quickly and printed out the boarding passes.
Pre-flight and Boarding
On departure day, after a good and filling breakfast, we were dropped off at the airport at 11:00am for our 12:10pm flight. There was still a small queue at the check in counter, but it was our turn quickly. Once we dropped our bags and got our boarding passes reprinted, we quickly made our way to the departure hall which was located on the 2nd floor of terminal building.
There were few shops and a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf outlet at the departure hall. The Malindo inbound aircraft landed shortly after. A swift turnaround followed, and boarding was called. It was almost a full flight, at least in economy class. Once boarding was done, we were ready for departure.

Push back & taxi to active runway
Once push back was done, we taxied out to the active runway, making a U turn to line up runway 02, and took off once a MasWing ATR72 that had just landed had vacated the runway.

Flight
We took off towards a southerly direction. It deprived us from the possibility of overflying Miri city and the chance for some great view over the city. Shortly after takeoff, we banked to a more westerly direction to begin our trek across South China Sea towards Kuala Lumpur.
Entertainment system came alive after we level off, and snack service commenced as well. The content of the meal was identical to our previous flight, but the movie selections were different.
The weather en route was mostly sunny with occasional minor turbulence. Very soon, we entered Peninsula Malaya airspace, and almost immediately, we began our descent to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The landing was pretty hard, but we did not need to taxi very long to find our gate at A2. After disembarkation, it was a short walk to the baggage reclaim area to collect our luggage.

Seems like you and I both have had similar experiences on Malindo and its good to know that they are consistent on Domestic Routes too.
