Hello everyone and welcome to my second leg of my trip to Poland with LOT Polish airlines.
Flight was expected at 10:40 am on August, 11th, so I reached the airport by road from Downtown Warsaw in only 15 minutes and arrived to the entrance of the terminal at 8am.

LOT check-in area was the D and E

Flights screens at WAW departures hall

I went straight to LOT check-in area which was huge but clean

I also saw Bussiness class check-in counters, not for us today! :-(

Check-in was fast because of there was no queue (a lot of counters were opened) and personal was professional, good job!

Afterwards, I joined security controls which were quite fast even if the security agents were watching carefully passengers and talking with them, a Polish way, I guess (much better than in MAD) !
Read here what happened in my inbound flight with LOT

Just next to the security, I could see this monster:

And I had breakfast while plane spotting ;-) and I caught this B763 of TUI Netherlands

and this Wizz air A320 heading Budapest

Also I had a look to my flight in flights screens: we were on-time!

At 10:10, boarding started and we could see our plane which was arriving TLV, it wasn´t the same than in inbound flight. This time, we will fly SP-LLE, LOT oldest aircraft, 20 years old!

Today´s B734 was parked at gate 44, one of the further ones from the security controls, so I had to hurry up (I was busy planespotting ;-) )

Boarding went fast but was a bit chaotic…

When entering the aircraft, I was curious to see if this one had been renovated as his brother SP-LLG, flown in the inbound flight…it wasn´t :-(

In less than half an hour, boarding was finished and cabin crew closed gates at 10:40, just in time!
I had a quick look to my seat: seat was old,

and had some scratches,

pitch was worse than in the inbound, not enough for a 3 hours flight…

Some other photos of a very old and dirty cabin:

Afterwards, we had a classic safety demonstration performed by today´s very smiling Polish crew and I took a look to the magazines and safety card.

Still parked, I had a look at my watch: gates had been closed for half an hour and we hadn´t even pushed pack!! Some technical problems?
I managed to spoted an OLDER aircraft than our´s: this Ellinair B733 was 27 years old!!!

Finally, we pushed back and head runway 29, which was 2 minutes taxiing from gate 44

And spotted this Enter AIr B737-700

At 11:10 with half an hour delay, we were banking away from Warsaw, what a beautiful cloudy take off!

Half an hour after, we had a "meal", definitely not enought…

and I tried to have a rest…but how could I manage to with this broken window letting sun light entering the cabin?

We passed over Czech Republic, Germany, France, including the Alps, Pyrenees and Toulouse, which was the most entertaining part of the flight because of Airbus factory!

Alps,

Pyrenees,

Toulouse,

and Airbus factory!

At 13:35, captain told passengers to fasten seatbelts, we were starting descending!
Air-to-air with a NO B738:

I had a look to our veteran wing and wing tip.

And, suddenly the pilot armed the spoilers which made a terrible noise during 10 minutes…add to the turbulences near MAD, this approach wasn´t an ideal one ;-)
But anyways, we were on final, landing gear was down, flaps were in landing position and spoilers were armed, we were about to touch-down!

I managed to take this photo of Madrid´s 4 skyscrappers

And what a touch-down! Because we were on short-final, and we hadn´t a lot of runway in front of us, the pilot pulled down the nose of the aircraft, which made the aircraft bouce hardly in MAD hot runway 33R and almost made a touch and go, but finally, gears touched the tarmac a second time and reverse and brakes were activated: we landed (almost) safely (^^) at 14:05, 20 minutes before expected time ; here is the vid´ (feel free to comment, like or suscribe!) !

Because of the long distance from the runway to our parking gate, it lasted 20 minutes until we were safely parked in MAD Terminal 2, but who cares? Planespotting!! ;-)

Finally we parked at 14:25 near this Norwegian B738:

In 5 minutes, I exited the plane and headed to the Terminal exit which was a bit far away, it took me 10 minutes, but we were on-time!

Thanks for reading, feel free to post a com. and to ask me a question, it will be a pleasure for me to answer.

Ese avión es del año 1996 d.C. o a.C.??????
Supongo que el Lot bíblico, cuya esposa se convirtió en sal, fue uno de los fundadores de esta aerolínea. De ahí el nombre, no?? XDDD
Por Dios!!! Me alegra que hayas llegado vivo a "Madryt"!!
Y gracias por compartir tu viaje!!
Antes antes de Cristo jaja gracias por comentar!
