Hi everyone and welcome to the first leg of my trip to Poland.
To fly from Madrid to Warsaw I could chose between various airlines such as Ryanair, Norwegian and Lot, and I choose this last one.
I was very excited to fly in one of the lastest B737-400 in Europe and that´s one of reasons why I choose LOT (and because of my timetable^^)
So, on August 4th, I arrived to Madrid Barajas Intl´ terminal 2 at half past noon, 3 hours before departure.
First, I checked if my flight was on the screens (you never know)

and I walked to LOT registration counters handled by Groundforce. Terminal hall looked quite old but was clean and wasn´t too crowded, much better than T1 and T3!

Just 3 hours before departure, 3 check-in counters opened and also the ticket office, a good point for LOT and Groundforce.

There was a little queue but it went fast, in 10 minutes I was walking down the security controls. Personal was kind and professional, good job!
In my way to the security check-point, I had a quick look to this classic flights-screen.

Security controls were very fast even if it looked very crowded and the reason of this was that security agents weren´t even looking to the screens and speaking with each other…unbelievable nowadays.
Here was my flight and it was on time!

Gate was the D54, just next to the security controls, near the Terminal 1, offering good connection with T1 and T3, another good point!

For the 2 hours being I had some great plane spotting like this TAM A350 smoking on MAD tarmac

and this Air Europa A330-300 SkyTeam livery

MAD is the land of Air Europa (Sky Team)

but also of Iberia (One World)

which is located in T4

Boarding was expected at 14:40 but, finally, boarding began at 3pm, 20 minutes late ahhhh…but gates closed at inicially departure time, 15:25.

Surprisingly, when entering the aircraft, I felt like it was a quite new aircraft, cabin was brand new renovated!!
Afterwards, I immediatly searched on the Net for some information about this unexpected cabin: SP-LLG had been renovated in June ´16!

This 19 YEARS OLD B737-400 was the first of the 3 Lot Boiengs 734 to be renovated in cooperation with Air France!

New generation seats, lights, A/C and speakers had been placed and offer a better experience in a veteran such as the B737-400.

Each seat provides also a universal plug which worked well, good point!

Pitch was OK for medium-haul flight.

While heading the runway we had the safety demo and I had a look to the safety rules

but of course of the great traffic at MAD such as this Pegasus Boieng 737 800 series arriving IST

and of this Air Europa B788 Dreamliner with AE new livery heading MIA

After taxiing for 20 minutes, we lined up runway 36R, ready for take off.

With 25 minutes-delay, we took off and head NE, here is the vid´!

Just before , the captain told us that the flight was going to last 3:05, half an hour less than normal time, we will be on time!
Also, we will be passing over Pyrenees, Alps, France, Germany and Czech Republic, including Toulouse, Lyon, Munich and Prague! What a nice european flight!
While passing over cloudy France, meal service began and we had some turbulences

A glass of water and a chocolate stick…wasn´t expecting more from LOT.

Letting behind us France…

…and clouds!

I had time to watch how strange was B734 winglet…

…and to catch (badly) this TK A321 heading Berlin TXL from Istambul IST

Here´s today´s stuff:

Soon, we started descending while entering Polish skies, and half an hour after, I took this photo…

…we were about to land at WAW! 50, 40,30, 20, 10, touchdown!

We land runway 33 at 18:45 smoothly, this veteran still have more than one trick up it's sleeve!
I managed to catch this AB DHC-8-400 parked

and this great view of Warsaw Chopin Airport Terminal

Watch here some other pics of my plane spotting at WAW

Surprisingly, taxiing lasted less than 3 minutes, because our plane parked in front of the terminal, we took a shuttle to Schengen baggage reclaim.
Dreamliner lights???

Views of our aircraft from the tarmac:

At 18.50, we arrived to the baggage reclaim

and here was our flight from "Madryt" ^^

Finally, at 7pm, we exited the terminal at the time we should have arrived, perfect!
Thanks for reading, feel free to post a comment and/or to ask me a question!
