During the peak season of Southeast Asian routes (Lebaran break for Indonesia in this case) , CAL usually uses 744s instead of the regular 333s.
And they would sell 747's upper deck as economy class as there weren't as many business flyers during this time of the year.
This is why I get to experience business class seats on this flight.

CI 761 is often delayed , and in today's case,the boarding commences after an hours delay.
Today's aircraft isn't one of CAL's refurnished 744. The upper deck configuration is 2-2



Seated in Business Class didnt give us Business Class meals ofcourse.
The choices are Cream chicken and Chinese styled fish fillets with side dishes of a delicious hot bun, a salad, assorted fruits and a little almond bar.
The meal service was overall satisfactory.


CI 761 landed at 13:30 local time after an hours delay. With a total flight time of 4 hours 32 minutes.

This is an unusual opportunity to fly in long haul J comfort with a Y ticket.
In these circumstances where you had ample time and space to move around, it is regrettable to provide only one picture of the cabin and its seats.
The airport experience in both TPE and CGK is also completely missing in this report

Thanks for sharing this first report with us! That's great that you got to fly in an international Business class seat sold as Economy on a short regional route! The seats are definitely outdated it they were selling it as actual Business class.
