I arrived at LHR and a kind lady from BA directed me to the kiosk to checkin. A certain location I managed to get entry to via my contacts offers a superb view of the runways !!!!
Terminal 5 is beautiful and spacious ; the future of air travel and sets the benchmark for all airport across the globe ! Go on BA !!
Staff at T5 are very pro-active and ready to help if you need them. At Security you have to get a pic taken which is then matched with your face at the gate. Boarding for the BA1396 ( A320 G-EUUI) was via an escalator down to the airbridge where you can collect a complimentary Daily Mail before you board !
This was an older A320 aircraft but with extremely bubbly crew ! This despite them having done 2 return Glasgow flights that day and this the first of 2 to/from Manchester !!! You’d never guess it as they were so polite,professional and immaculate ! The cabin was in a 3x3 configuration with beautiful blue leather seats.
After 15 mins taxying, which saw a jumbo take off ahead, we shot into a cloudy sky and the pilot applied lots of pressure on the engines to keep this baby in the air ! Take off was at 1545pm, service started 1600pm and immediately pilot said 10 mins to landing !!!!! The lovely crew quickly dished out savoury snacks or chocolate treats plus complimentary cold drinks.
The nasty weather meant hot drinks were a NO NO !!
After spilling most of my lemonade on my leg, the rubbish collection began !
Landing at MAN was smooth and we got a photo with the lovely cabin crew as a memento of a great trip !!
A nice few days for me and I enjoyed every minute( except the turbulent flight to Heathrow !!!)
