I drop of my rental car and head to the terminal:
My flight is scheduled on time, good to know as I only have only an hour in Atlanta:
Delta's check in zone:
I checked in with a very friendly agent who hands me over both my boarding passes for ATL and CDG. She tries to print out the last leg but can't. Then she realizes I have a train booking from CDG to BRU and apologizes she can't print it. She tells me I need to pick up my bags in CDG and go to the train station to obtain my train boarding pass. I know the process as I did choose it on purpose: my tickets are booked ex and to BRU as they are cheaper than from BSL. I will skip the last leg and take a flight to BSL instead.
Nice Christmas stuff:
Going upstairs to the D Gates:
I breezed through TSA, all agents were very nice and smiling. Christmas spirit may have helped. Then I board the train to the D concourse:
I loved this Star wars Christmas tree:
Gates are one floor up:
FIDS:
A bit of spotting with this 737-800 and this 767-300 to ATL a bit later in the morning:
AA A321:
717 to SLC:
The sun begins to rise:
Boarding is called on time, priorities are strictly enforced, as usual with DL. Very nice welcome from the F/As.
Here the cabin of this 757-300:
A few comments;
- The screens are pretty big and have a very good definition
- USB plugs are below to screens and power plugs between the seats
- Row 1AB has to be avoided, the pitch is awful as the bulkhead very near is
- Row 1CD is a bit better but still, there's more legroom in "regular" rows
- Recline is pretty good and the seat is comfortable enough
A welcome drink was offered. Coffee-baileys for me:
We took off on time, unfortunately no outside views, I had an aisle seat.
Nous partirons à l'heure, pas de photos extérieures, je n'étais pas à la fenêtre.
Safety card:
Once we reached the cruising altitude, the service began with a hot towel:
Today's meal choice are either cinnamon - passion fruit oatmeal or an omelet with provolone cheese together with chicken apple sausages. I took the latter:
It was a really good meal. The omelet was tasty and not overcooked, one of the best I had in a plane. The bagel came with Philadelphia cheese or butter/jam. The fruits were not top, however.
Service was very attentive and proactive. The lead FA made sure glasses were never empty and all requests fulfilled.
I managed to sleep a bit throughout the flight. We landed 20 minutes early in ATL.
A last picture of the cabin:
To conclude, some pictures from my room at the Cosmo in Vegas:
Great report, and looks like you had a nice flight Delta in F. The breakfast looked good.
I liked your photos from the Cosmo in Las Vegas as well too. I stayed there last year, and really enjoyed my stay. What an amazing hotel!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Esteban for sharing your experience on this DL flight.
DL offers a solid product and without a doubt seems positioned to be the best of the 3 U.S. legacy carriers. Perfect score for both LAS and ATL? Impressive indeed!
Beautiful spotting and bonus.
Very nice report! Nice spotting in LAS, I especially like the pic of the 763. LAS airport is in desperate need of a makeover, it's looking so drab and 80s.
my tickets are booked ex and to BRU as they are cheaper than from BSL. I will skip the last leg and take a flight to BSL instead.
- Naughty naughty :-P
I like the new 753 cabins. I was impressed on my flight from LAX to HNL over a year ago when they started retrofitting the cabins. It's a big difference from the old NWA cabins.
Good service and catering from DL as usual.
Great view from the room in Vegas! Thanks for sharing
Thank you guys for your nice comments !
Thank you for a great trip report. In particular, observations like yours about the bulkhead seating is essential to people like me who look for as much information as possible about what seats to choose. I also love how you throw in pictures of your destinations in your reports - I feel like I'm traveling right alongside you :) Please keep up the excellent work!
