This is the last leg of a trip I took in November when I went to visit my partner who had hip replacement surgery in Lyon.
After I had arrived in CDG from SLC on Delta Airlines I went to terminal 2F1 to catch my flight to Lyon.
Check in on the net was done before I left Santa Ana and I went straight to security. I was selected for a manual search of my bags, and there my bag was being suspected of containing traces of explosives as the machine was whistling and ringing and flagging and all !!! They call the team leader who asks for my passport, start to question my latest uses of the bag etc… I get a ton of questions and am asked have you been doing some DIY ? gardening ? have you used fertilizers ? it took them a good 20 minutes after which they did a second test and my bag was cleared, no traces of explosives, I was clear ! Apparently it happens and some times the machine detects something when there is absolutely nothing. They should actually do a second check before grinding the passenger into pieces !
Anyway, I go have a walk in the terminal, buy a few magazines for my better half and a some chocolate as well. I take some time to have a snack at EXKI !
Boarding starts, I get in line and board amongst the first as I am an Elite Plus passenger.
We are greeted by the Purser and a female cabin attendant leads us to our seat.
The flight is not full and the 2 seats next to me are vacant.

Boarding is now over, we are now waiting for departure.
We leave our parking stand a good 10 minutes early probably due to the fact that the flight is not full.
And we have to pay homage to the stunning Concorde…
After take-off the crew will serve us a drink and a snack.
Coke and Sablés breton for me… I know it might be on the light side for most, but I was OK after my snack at EXKI !
The crew will come a few times to collect the trash and offer another drink to who ever wants one.

We are starting our descent to Lyon Saint Exupéry.

We had arrived early at Lyon Saint Exupéry and we are parked at the gate furthest to the right of the terminal, near AF's regional partner's planes.
I get out as quickly as possible, no bags, I drop my bags at the NH Lyon Aeroport Hotel to check-in and rush to the Croix Rousse Hospital.

Ah un petit vol AF domestique cela faisait longtemps, ca fait du bien de retrouver ces sucres/sale (HUMOUR), au vue de la cabine vous avez eu un 320 bien pouri et vieux mais c'est la vie.

En effet l'avion était vieux, c'était le F-GFKM 22 ans, mais je ne dirais pas bien pourri car j'ai vu bien pire dans mes voyages à travers le monde. La cabine était certes vieille et a un sérieux besoin d'une nouvelle jeunesse !

Ils feraient bien de la roder plus souvent, leur machine, si elle détecte des faux positifs. A Kinmen, j'ai eu droit au chien qui a détecté des fruits dans ma valise, sauf qu'ils avaient été mangés le matin même, et que l'odeur restait. L'avantage des fruits sur les explosifs, c'est que c'est beaucoup plus facile de montrer qu'il n'y en a pas dans la valise, et que c'est beaucoup moins suspect d'en avoir manipulé; c'est même recommandé pour la santé (les 5 fruits et légumes par jour, ils connaissent aussi à Taïwan). La douanière devait connaître ce bug et ça a duré maxi dix minutes. Non, vous ne le lirez pas dans un FR, parce que j'arrivais par mer de Xiamen.

Un vol domestique...pfffff :-) mais en cherchant bien on a quand même droit à une histoire perso, une alerte aux explosifs, à Francis Lalane, au Concorde, à l'intérieur old school d'Air France et à son légendaire sucré salé et à une centrale nucléaire; finalement c'est pas si mal. Merci pour ce FR
