Returning now from Singapore back to Europe via Doha I had planned the perfect timing to catch the new A-350 of Qatar Airways in Business Class.
Arrived 3 hours before the flight to Changi Airport. If someone has not been to this terminal before at least in my modest opinion is one of the best airport terminals in the world. Combines simplicity, a discreet luxury and efficiency.
Check in was a breeze and in no time I was seated at the DNATA lounge. The lounge was OK but not again up to QR's standard that is pretty high with Al Mourjan offer. I could expect this lounge for regular airlines but not for the airline that calls itself the World's 5 star airline…
Boarding started on time and I was greeted once again by an asian flight attendant (very charming) who directed me to my seat. The first impression of the A-350 cabin was of great space, modern design and of a very high quality of finishes and details.
Choice of hot or cold towel was offered (note the little oshibori 'plate' of First Class quality) together with the menu for this flight.
Just in time we pushed back and taxied to the active runway. We took off and the flight time was of 6hrs 55 mins. Service started quickly and orders were taken by the purser. Dinner was the main and if you liked there was an offer of a light breakfast, all on demand.
Tradiational Arabic Mezze
Main dish was a chicken breast with potatoes and veggies, very standard
Cheese selection
Dessert was chocolate souffle with raspeberry coulis…it was decent
After the meal I reclined my seat and continued to relax with a few glasses of the same wines as my flight inbound and had the chance to see a couple of movies…
Descent started and we landed in Doha just in time. I didn't had any other meal after dinner but for sure Qatar boards a lot of food and if you really want to eat then QR Business is the place to be ;)
