Ok.. we have come down to the final leg of my journey from Colombo to Singapore via Kuala Lumpur. You can find earlier trip reports here.

2. KUL - SIN in MI http://flight-report.com/en/report-10726.html
3. SIN - KUL in MH http://flight-report.com/en/report-10796.html
As mentioned in my first trip report, we were ticketed under MH but this journey had two codeshare flights from two different operators. So for to wind up the trip we got the opportunity to fly in our flag carrier.
Models displayed at the main terminal.
Taking the skytrain from main terminal to the satellite terminal.
So we headed to our gate. Wait a second….! This isn't an A320 (as it was scheduled) and this change of aircraft means my seat 24F will no longer be a window seat… hmm!
It's the first A330 of UL (4R-ALA) and it is named after a sacred city in the south eastern part of the country.
We boarded and settled to our seats.
Pretty decent legroom
I still couldn't make up my mind of losing a window seat, flight was about 90% full so I tried my luck. I managed to caught the attention of a crew member and kindly requested her to see if any available window seat. Flight was still boarding so she told me she'll look into it.
Just as the doors were closed the flight attendant called to me to a window seat and its the bulkhead seat. A big thank you to her!!!
Bulkhead legroom
We took off on time and I started going through the IFE. Not many good movie choices and had some nice TV shows.
Poor peacock has got beheaded!
After reaching cruising altitude, menu cards were distributed. I like the cover design.
Over Indonesia
Meal time… I chose the chicken option.
Stainless steel cutlery!
We encountered some heavy turbulence over the Indian Ocean but it was brief.
Enjoying apple juice while listening to music.
Final approach over Negombo lagoon
Home sweet home!
A retired Ilyushin
Mihin Lanka, the low cost arm of SriLankan
An Air India A321 from Chennai. Interestingly we parked next to an AI flight at the end of the onward journey too.
So this concludes my journey. Hope to see you again another trip report.
Awesome that you were able to score a window seat in the bulkhead last minute! The meal looks really appetizing. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, the meal was delicious. Thanks for the feedback!
Hi Thurya,
Great trip report! Last flew on UL's A330's back in 2011 and since then I've only got their 320's on the sectors I've flown on.
Nice capture of the Mihin fleet and the Air India aircraft which I presume is an A321 if i'm not mistaken
Thanks for Sharing!
Cheers!!
Thanks for you comments, Aaqib.
This too was scheduled to be an A320 but got upgraded to an A332 due to overbooking.
Yes, its should be corrected as an A321 for AI aircraft.
Thanks again!
Cheers!!
