Review of Lufthansa flight from Lisbon to Frankfurt in Business

Last January I took the opportunity to travel to Vancouver using a Mileage Bargain from Miles&More, offering flights between Portugal (LIS, OPO, FAO) and Vancouver, business class, for only 55000 miles instead of the regular 105000 miles for the return trip. The flights must be taken during May, so I booked a LIS-FRA-YVR-MUC-LIS for 55000 miles + 539,36 EUR (taxes). On this promotion is now mandatory the departure airport to be the same as the arrival airport, so departing LIS I must returned to LIS.
Before the first leg on this ticket I did a FNC-LIS flight with TAP during the night. After checking in at Lufthansa counter at Lisbon Airport I headed to TAP Premium lounge, which has been closed on the 31st May due to construction works. It opened at 5h00 and, at the time, it was plenty of cold and hot snacks for a few passengers arriving for the early departure flights. The boarding gate, 14, was in front of lounge. The aircraft would be an A321, D-AIDV with retro colours. For a departure time at 7h15, at 7h00 boarding was completed and doors were closed. It would be a full flight, both in C and Y class. A welcome drink (choice between champagne, water, juice) was offered on the ground as long with newspapers and international magazines.

After taking-off the crew came along with hot towels and distributing the menu for the breakfast service. The service started shortly after with a large tray containing: Cold Specialties: brie cheese, “fonte mourisca” cheese, pepper salami, sautéed mushorooms, fresh fruit and yogurt. There would be 2 options for the hot plate. My choice was: sautéed apple wedge with cinnamon, orange tart, wild berry jam. Freshly squeezed orange juice and other juices were offered 3 times during the service, as long as with different types of bread, small cakes and croissants, served from a basket. Very nice and complete service on this 2h40 flight.

After onboard sales service and shortly before arrival at FRA, crew come again asking if we would like to have another drink. Crew was very professional and attentive to passenger needs.
In my opinion Lufthansa has a top product on business class on those longer European flights.
