This is my first flight report here. However, just a very short report as i lost most of the photos before. I can only find a few in my dropbox folder.
Here is my boarding pass. This time is a window seat 48K on the A330. So lucky Gate 1 for the first time

Since my uncle is a marco polo member, let's go to the lounge to have a drink

Fresh Fruit Slices is also available in little plastic cup (or should i say bowl?)

I also ordered a special drink that only available during Easter Chocolate martini

Opps!!! Gate changed poor me. Chance for using Gate 1 is not for me :(

Today's aircraft A330-300. I forgot what is the registration but it is indeed a new aircraft.

Seat Pitch is good for me (184cm). However, i don't like the design of the tray table, the locking mechanism is too hard for me to open it.

View for the wing, a SQ 777 parking over there and a oneworld a330 taxing

The food for HKG-TPE degrade much now. Guess what is inside the paper box

Can you guess it?
Here is the answer: stir-fried rice and a box of tea not included in this photo. Orange juice for economy class has become history.

Despite the poor catering, it is always full of joy when you look out the window

Sorry for the lack of photos. I will update the flight report if i am able to find out where are they.
Thank you for your report! It was so lucky of you to have a chance for lounge access. And Gate ONE really does mean a lot! On the other hand the meal for the flight......... you sure CX is a 5 star airline?
BTW you could zoom out a bit more for your photos next time and look forward to see your remaining photos and more reports!
Thanks for sharing. The lounge is a plus but catering is really not what you expect on CX even in economy.
Even for 3-4 years before, they offered hot cheese and ham bun is much better than today
Welcome Alex and thank you for sharing this short report.
What a big catering disappointment on the part of CX. I wonder if BR or CI offerings in the same cabin are comparable. At least you had access to the lounge to enjoy some more solid catering.
The two taiwanese carriers are still offering full meal in these short flight. The meal on BR is so generous to Y class
Thank you for sharing your first report!
Food offering seems to be a disappointment for CX, wonder if this is normal on these short flights with them nowadays.
Hope to see many more flight reports from you in the future!
In asia region, most international flights even if they are short, will have full tray meal for Y class
thanks for this trip report! i have flown with CX since 1996 and all i could say is that while their premium offerings remain good, their economy class offering is just going downhill. Your trip report kindda confirms my thought. I flew with CX to Taipei in 2013 and i was given a slice of pizza, a cookie, and drinks and I thought back then the offering was rather minuscule.
Looking forward to see more FR from you
CX has been cost-cutting for many years. However, its service seems downgrade a lot. CI's roundtrip ticket for HKG-TPE is only about 950 hkd (US$ 123, EUR109), but CX needs up to 1300 hkd (140EUR, US$168). The ratio is not good for customers to pick CX again
Welcome to the site and thank you for sharing this report!
I flew CX in Y on the NGO-TPE route last fall and we had a full meal service on that route, which is almost the same length as this flight. Granted the food was spectacular, but it was at least a full tray. This is a very disappointing offering for a route like this between two strategic airports. A box of fried rice is not a meal.
Was this the new or old configuration on the A333?
It is a new config on the A333
